The right people is a matter of opinion. Some other sites offered to buy it, and technically that would be the right people. But it ain't for me Method. When I started I was a forum member and nothing more, so I don' see why another forum member couldn't do the same. you underestimate your fellow members. I've turned to the forums because it's like family to me and when I sell it I hope it's one of you guys that continue the tradition and vibe we have created here. Hanzy, as far as revenue goes that real is up to you. There is money to be made, it's just never been my main goal. I don't like that part of the business. Money is generated through displaying adds in our videos, forums, and articles. If you make more than what you spend to keep .it running then you are good. Expenses are low so there is no problem
Maxboxing was created and then bought by Gary Randall and co. Good point all around, but other websites have shown interest. Speaking to carlos, I understand why he put it here. He has other interests in who he wants to hand the site over to.
I don't even know what you're talking about. I came onto the whole boxing on the net thing way too late.
maxfighting was an MMA site owned by gary randall like in 2002 or so. it looked exactly the same as maxboxing. same w/ maxgames or maxgaming.
that will be the response when the new owner sends out a massive email to all the PRs. new owner: hi, i'm the new owner of fightbeat..... PRs: WHOOOO? hahaha
i must say this tho. while i believe fightbeat is and always has been a 2 bit site, cupey has done a pretty good job handling it all by himself for the most part. he was god awful and unprofessional at handling and taking care of his staff (although most of them if not all were garbage writers including myself), but for a second rate site, he did better than most expected. thanks to him, i got to see a lot of good fights at ringside.
Real intelligent post, Joony.:bears: Speak for yourself as far as writing is concerned, bro. Some of us are in the World Boxing Hall of Fame and some of us are not. Work with it.
Carlos Call me as soon as you can Carlos I had no Idea this was going on I hope you are feeling okay Your loyal VP
I need more info on this. how many unique page views does the site get? how much is the payroll? How much advertising revenue is coming in monthly? How consistent is the site at getting press credentials?
who's in the world boxing hall of fame? have you written for the site on a consistent basis? have you provided anything besides what happens in houston? has anyone one for that matter, contributed on this site on even a monthly basis? the answer would be no.
You gotta be shittin' me, Stinger. You think you're Mickey Spillane? You think you're some kind of a fuckin' writer?
The only time I've ever heard of the World Boxing Hall of Fame is when Stinger Karl brags about the unpaid work he does for it. If you've never made a dollar on writing in your life, you're not a writer.
... and a technical writer and a writing teacher. I've made money off of writing for the past 10 years. Stinger Karl's a guy who's written for two obscure websites.
The Green Eyed Monster What a bunch of jealous and envious posters here. You are all on ignore and have gone way off of the beaten path with this thread. Someone that actually does and accomplishes things in boxing is a target for typing attacks here by folks that have not, huh? Real professional, folks. I would have expected a lot more from Joon Lee, though. Maybe Carlos was right about him. Karl
