September 10 - Yuriorkis Gamboa v. Daniel Ponce de Leon (HBO)

September 24 - Andre Berto v. Jan Zaveck (IBF welterweight/HBO)

October 1 - Toshiaki Nishioka v. Rafael Marquez (WBC super bantamweight/SHOWTIME)

October 1 - Sergio Martinez v. Darren Barker (lineal middleweight championship/HBO)

 

Yeah man, lets give the first one a miss if that's OK, but the rest seem worth including, maybe with the exclusion of the Pavlik fight, which just seems like a comeback resume padder.

Hut*Hut, I don't know if Showtime reaches out in your corner of the world, but both have been on for like their past four or five fights. Mares was also on HBO a couple of times, including the televised undercard of Pacquiao-Marquez II

It'll continue when people agree what fights are coming up. I asked if we should include the Mares fight and basically got no response.

If Jake wouldn't mind, I'd be happy to just have him set the next 6 weeks or so of fights and we can all add our picks to our pick post and go from there.

 

I'll help in any way you see fit.

How about this, I'll list fights I believe are relevant/prediction worthy and you can have final say on whether or not a fight belongs. For example, HBO co-feature on 8/27 is Seth Mitchell-Mike Mollo. Shit fight if you ask me, but for those who love heavyweights they may see relevance in it. Would rather list and have them removed, then have to add later.

Do you think the above are sufficient? There were quite a few fights there I thought would be a bit of a stretch for quite a few people to make informed picks (read especially me). Excellent choices though, thanks for that Jake.

 

Edit: sorry, didn't realize that you only listed the fights you thought were worthy. I thought you quoted my post straight up and asked if it was enough fights.

I think that's fine the way you have it. Like I said, the ones I expected to get axed were in fact removed. I'm even wondering if Helenius-Liakhovich belongs.

 

I"ve added those fights to the schedule on page 1. Everybody feel free to make picks for them whenever you like.

 

Looks like a good amount of fights to me. Unfortunate that they're sorta clustered together, but still plenty points to play for there.

Guerrero-Maidana is now obviously off. Guerrero out due to shoulder injury.

August 27 picks will just be the two heavyweight fights.
