Damnit, not a great week for me. I don't blame myself for my Boot and Rigondeaux straddles, but I had such a low opinion of Solis before the fight, I had no idea why I thought he'd last the distance. Maybe because he couldn't stop Briggs etc. Solis is a total chode.

I was out on the Bute prediction by 1 round. I knew Magee would lose by KO, he has collapsed so often late in fights and has always shown a lack of core. Robin Reid, Froch and now Bute have all exposed him to a degree or another. I am glad I followed my instincts and went for a Magee late KO there. Just missed out.

I thought after Molitors near miss vs that little smackhead fella in England that he too was on the slide. Got that one wrong it seems.

You actually watch the fight? I must have missed the post which had you proven right by a knee injury. Your slurping self fellating grows slightly wearisome.

The was certainly the best round anyones had against Vitali since Lewis, until the last second KD & Jake was the only person who foresaw the possibility of Solis having success with in and out movement like that.

    WTF?

Vitali often doesn't do much in the first round.

Did YOU not see the bit where Vitali hit Solis with one right hand, which resulted in Solis either being KO'd or quitting? His knee didn't even look fucked, his eyes did.

Regardless of how well he was doing or would have done is meaningless Hut Hut, he was KO'd in the first round, proving what a scrub he is.

I don't see how on earth my post could be construed as self fellating either. I'm saying I should have stuck to my guns more. I thought Solis was a complete scrub, but predicted Vitali UD.

I say a 20 point deduction for you and Royness just for being German.

By the way, nothing weird happened in the fight due to us agreeing

Knee injury. It was clearly a fucking knee injury.

Your constant need to paint other people as stupid is quite an obnoxious trait, Mex. It was a knee injury. Nobody is proved a scrub by an injury related retirement. The only thing this fight was notable for was how adept Solis looked in boxing Vitali in the 2:56s until the injury, which is no mean feat and only Jake foresaw.

And even if Jake was proven wrong, stupid, midguided or anything of the sort (which he wasn't) and the fight had totally vindicated your infallible judgement on Solis (which it didn't), the need for you to be such a condescending pill doesn't follow.

For the record, I got this fight totally wrong. I thought Solis would try to establish centre ring and stalk Vitali behind a high guard like he did Austin and get taken apart and the shit beaten out of him in the process. It's a crazy notion but I think he might have fought that way against Austin to draw Vitali into making the match and into a sense of complacency.

Solis impressed me last night, he has more ability than I thought. Injury was a shame.

You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

I'm not painting anyone as stupid. You're being paranoid and weird.

I wasn't even thinking about Jake or anyone who picked Solis when I wrote that post. I was purely thinking about my pick.

If anything I was painting myself as slightly stupid. Seeing as I thought Solis was a scrub, why did I think he would go the distance?

I give credit to anyone who picked Vitali by KO twice.

Solis proved he either has no chin or no heart. Didn't look like a legit knee injury to me.

If they had a rematch, who would you pick Hut?

Bute v Froch will be a good match-up.
Magee had a fair bit of success against Bute.

Will Froch & Bute only meet if Froch wins the Super Six? If so, will Froch have to fight him in Canada?

Magee has always been a decent European level fighter I think.

He's not bad, no, but not really world class either.

Borderline top 10. Whether that constitutes 'world class', is really a semantic point. He's def below the top level guys, but was a worthy challenger.

I changed my mind late on this and thought Magee would be cute enough to last the distance. Luckily I waged my money about two weeks ago when I was convinced Bute would win by stoppage in the 2nd half. Kerching.

How good do you think Boot is?

He is one of the only fighters around at the moment that I don't have a clear opinion on.

I like him allot. But allot of that is down to his style which I really enjoy. A fight with Kessler will tell us allot - I'll be confident he'll win well.

I haven't seen last nights fight yet, I'll DL the torrent tomorrow.

It's been confirmed, as much as these things can be confirmed in the murky world of boxing, that Solis has a torn posterior cruciate ligament & a torn miniscus.

It's seriously disappointing because Solis looked like he was shaping up to make the fight intriguing. I doubt he'll ever be the same after this, at least not soon enough to make him getting a second chance feasible.

Hut, Crolla and Rees are meeting on the undercard of Khan v McCloskey. Will that fight make the predictions league? Is a very good match-up I think.
