FYI: Dr Ferdie Pacheco and Angelo Dundee always referred to DeJesus by Steven, and some of the crowd at the 5th Street Gym did as well.

Another champion that should be in the IBHOF is the great flyweight champion Masao Ohba who was killed in a car wreck while he was champion.

Zamora was a better fighter than Gatti, but then again many fighters that are not in the IBHOF were.

Gatti was a good and tough kid who would fight to the death and I have a lot of respect him as a warrior, but he is not one of the All-Time Greats.

I don't think anybody considers Gatti an all time great. In terms of guts and entertainment? For sure.

His untimely death likely lead to early induction although he'd likely be in there in the future anyway.

Gatti's induction is/was a complete joke, more of a joke than Zamora's would be for sure, but it still doesn't change the fact that Zamora being in the hall of fame hardly enhances it

I don't think anything can be done to enhance the HOF. Boxing's version is pretty much a joke compared to lets say baseball. Obviously lots of differences (and an entirely different discussion) between the sports and the amount of athletes, but the bottom line one is harder to get into.

Gatti does not belong in the hall of fame. Period. I'm sure most people would favor Victor Ortiz over him head to head, let alone greats or near greats from the past. However the 'young lion' getting in would leave a much more sour taste in my mouth than Gatti's induction.

A Great Flyweight Champion like Pone Kingpetch is not in, and that is a joke.
