God knows Pedroza had it coming, although Hut might be along in a moment to defend him, hahah.

Indeed... It was Pedroza's most outrageous fight

In fairness, though, LaPorte was too much of a good guy... He should have fucking blasted him in the nuts... He let Gomez do the same dirty shit to him as well (I still say if he'd have let his goddamn hands go instead of trying to land one perfect shot round after round, he could have crushed Wilfredo... Instead he repeatedly backed to the ropes trying to recreate the Lockridge KO... Backing up to the ropes and "putting on the earmuffs" as Gil Clancy would have said, describing LaPorte's infuriating tendency to WAIT FOREVER to score a one-punch KO instead of just throwing)

I think it would have maybe gotten Pedroza to back off with all of that illegal shit... Unlike you, however, I don't believe it is the key to victory... If it were, Pedroza would have reigned for another 20 years and Fritzie Zivic would be undefeated... get over it, Whitaker beat Chavez easy, it was no contest... Chavez could have responded with a full-on kick to the nuts and he'd still lose just the same, the die was cast long before that punch
