Mayo getting his ass beat by Tito kinda hurt me. Gatti getting his ass handed to him by Gomez. Thinking about it the Corrales loss to Joshua hurt too. They were some pretty bad beatings on guys i liked.

I've been upset about fighters losing but only two fights REALLY hurt and both occurred in 2004.

ha, it's funny you say that, as i always though the same thing. even funnier, considering the character's transformation.

    As for the topic:

For a while it was Scott Harrison-Wayne McCullough, but that was replaced with McCullough literally forced to quit on his stool in the Larios rematch. Hearing him beg Dr. Goodman and Freddie Roach to finish the fight was disturbing as it was sad.

Calzaghe-Lacy is high on that list, even if I was happy to see Joe finally get some respect.

REED Wasn't "Hurt" by the Loss, but To this day, REED still Feels VERY BAD for Jermain Taylor...

The Boxing World (REED Included) was TURNED OFF by his Opponent Selection, his Own State TURNED ON HIM, he was Heartily BOO'ed as he Made his RingWalk & he was Left N an UNCONCIOUS Heap, in Front of the People who Care THE MOST about him (Mother, Wife, Sisters & Ozell)...

Jermain is a GOOD, HUMBLE, VERY LIKABLE Dude who has EXUDED NATHAN but Class Throughout (Even in the Post-Fight Interview)his Career...& he ONLY Fought the Guys that Lou DiBella Lined Up for him...

As EXCITING as that Fight was, as ECSTATIC as REED was to Predict the EXACT Round & as HAPPY as REED was for Kelly Pavlik, a Part of REED STILL "Hurts" for Jermain Taylor also...

I feel bad for Jermain as well. The clowning he got from those cats at the radio station was too much. Jermain didn't deserve that.

    "Like I said before"

The harsh words I had for him were really about Burns and DiBella.

Agreed on Taylor also, but not "hurt", per se....but I do feel bad for the "cat".

    Hindsight is 20-20, but...

He should have taken a knee when he was first hurt by the Pavlik right hand. He would have survived the round had he done so and possibly gone on to win a decision or possibly hurt Pavlik back.

Are you talking about the guys in the "countdown" show or did the same guys have more to say after the fight?

i was going to, but that was more Viv being dumb (both in camp and on fight night) than anything else. It hit me that night, but i got over it fairly quickly (esp. considering Viv still being an arrogant MFer, as if he knocked dude out  )

tito-whitaker a little, because it was the first fight I thought he lost outright, but he still had some moments

bojorquez-whitaker...shit man, he didn't even get a CHANCE to do a thing due to injury. Wisely he didn't try another comeback, but I felt down after that because I doubted with his personality if we'd ever see him again in any capacity. Like he'd go into seclusion or get into more trouble with drugs.

    Damn what a depressing topic.

Yup...that's what made it worse. Thought it was likely, then listened to the 911 call on ESPN and read the stories.

Jermains critisism is crazy to me. He fought Hops twice. he was at least p4p #2 when he fought him coming off 20 title defences. then an immediate rematch. Followed by another p4p'er in Wright. That was followed by a former world champ Ouma. Then current champ Spinks followed by Kelly Pavlik.

Who else has recent comp like that.

Yeah, but if you look at those fights the only fight he won is the Ouma fight.

    Hops (2)
    Wink
    Ouma
    Spinks
    Pavlik

In my mind, Taylor is 2-4 (lost to Hops both times, lost to Wink and KO'd by Pavlik). The two fights he won were FAR from impressive.

Taylor won the first Hopkins fight IMO, not the second one though. He beat Winky also....and the Spinks and Ouma fights shouldnt' be a debate.

    he's 4-2, IMMEO. :nono:
