At the time,..Curry was rivaling Hagler for #1 P4P,..and looked virtually unbeatable at welterweight.
Not only was he dominated and stopped brutally,..but was never the same afterwards.

While it was truly a shocker, Curry wasn't anywhere close to being stopped brutally imo. While that's probably what would have happened had he not retired at the end of the 6th, I feel it's one of worst display of a p4per abdicating his throne so meekly.
