Watched Muratalla vs. Cruz again. Such a beautiful fight. And it proves fighters can with elite skills need not be boring. And the fight was nearly non-stop motion.....none of this hackey hit and hold tactics we see so often these days (guy throws a combo and then just holds his opponent to shut down the return fire; such a hack move).

    Hearns vs Shields.

Showed up in my YouTube shorts so I investigated further.

Hearns really an unbelievable fighter. Literally couldn't build a better fighter.

Shields wins a title today no problems.

Yeah, one had to have good mixture of power, chin or heart. Otherwise they'd be hopeless. I think i've posted it before but I believe somebody like Mayorga (who would probably get face planted) would still have a better shot again Tommy than Floyd or Pernell

    It's just a styles thing.

Rewatched the 2 Spinks-Holmes fights. Along the general consensus, I had the first fight for Spinks and the rematch with Holmes.

Holmes started too strong in the first few rounds, and held on for a close win on my card. Spinks still impressed me though, and I actually thought it was a very close fight.

His weird herky jerky style would help disrupt Holmes’s rhythm, and he had success with some unusual combos.

Holmes should’ve pressed harder in the 14th, but I guess he was too tired. Spinks walked into that right hand and he was out on his feet.

Carl Thompson was an exciting fighter to watch.

Another fun fight here. Carl took some bombs from Haye, withstood them, then got Haye outta there.
