Being that it was Kov's very first time going 12, and being that he was in with one of the smartest, and most crafty fighters to ever live, it was an impressive performance. It's gonna take Ward to beat Kov. That bum Stevenson will get knocked clean the fuck out by Kov.

 

Agreed. While I think everyone outside Kov's corner would have liked to see him be more aggressive and take Hopkins out, at the end of the day it's most important to get the win. As others have pointed out if he approached it that way he could have fatigued or opened himself up to something dirty. Instead he gave Nard no chance at all and won by a landslide.

 

Stevenson is an easy fight for Kovvles.

He'll walk that scumbag down and beat the shit out of him.

 

On the undercard, Sadam Ali looked pretty good. Abregu looked terrible though. Slow, no coordination, and a shit chin. But Ali countered him to death like a true pro is suppose to. Let's see Ali vs Thurman, since both are unbeaten and with G.

 

Hopkins vs Stevenson would be interesting though. I'd actually like to see Hops fight him early next year and then retire, leaving the division for Kovalev

All true. Adonis' game is based mainly to his left cross, if you can remove that you beat him and Hopkins might still find a way to do it. The key to Kovalev's success was that he was able to fire with both hands whenever he had a slightest of chance and he could keep BHop off with his feints as soon as Bernard tasted his power. It isn't nearly as effective to feint crosses

Hopkins is probably too slow to be that bum Stevenson.

 

Even though the late Manny improved Stevenson, his bum ass still isn't that skilled.

He has affleticism, and power, but he's technically very flawed.

 

I missed the fight. Totally forgot it was last night. Was it worth watching or it was boring?

 

Watching it live it was somewhat interesting as you were wondering if Kovalev could get Hopkins out of there or would Hops rally back in the late rounds. It has very little replay value

 

Watched the last round on youtube where supposedly Kovalev gave BHops a beating. Not so much until the last 20 seconds. If this was the most exciting round, I am not bothering in watching the rest of the fight.

 

Hopkins is being classy and gave Kovalev his proper dues.

I actually re-watched the fight a 2nd time yesterday. Upon second viewing, it really was an excellent performance by Kov.

He technically took Hop apart, which is impressive even talking a 50-yr old Hop.

Anybody that thinks the the Hop of a few years ago would give Kov the Pavlik treatment is fuckin mental!

Kov is better, and more talented than the Youngstown alchy ever was.
