Final Prediction: Bernard Hopkins vs. Winky Wright

There's no reason why Hopkins should play it safe in the early going. There's no sting on Wright's punches. Hops should attack him right at the offset, rather than waiting and waiting for opportunities like he did against Taylor.

I just have a feeling that Wright's workrate is going to be the key to victory for him. Hopkins is smart and he's crafty but he is just too inactive. Wright's defense is simple, but effective. I think Hopkins will have a hard time landing anything meaningful enough to negate Wright's workrate. Hopkins will win some rounds, just not many. I see 116-112 or 117-111 for Wright.

 

He doesn't have the energy anymore to do that.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I see Wright controlling much of the action in the middle of the ring with Hopkins on the outside trying to potshot. I think Hopkins REALLY needs to go after Wright with everything he's got.

He'll need to be real active to win that's for sure. The big question is whether Hopkins can fight that type of fight anymore.

I think People are fooled by the Tarver fight and how dominant Hopkins was over the bigger Tarver. Well Tarver has shit for a workrate too and that is the difference.

Hopkins by UD!

I think this is one of those fights where the weight will be an issue. There is a reason Winky couldn't sign to fight at 175 and even 170 is pushing it.

I think it will be competitive but Hopkins being the better fighter coming in with the better weight will win a UD.
