FINAL PREDICTION: Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto

One of the worst superfights. Maybe the worst superfight in history. They promoted it like it was the fight of the millenium or something.

 

Floyd has a very awful style at welter and above. I tune in on the off chance to see him lose. I have never picked against him as far as I remember.

 

He stands his ground a lot more at 147, he barely takes a step back now. The Mosley beatdown was one of his most entretaining fights IMO.

He will move a bit against Cotto early on but I expect him to be the one putting pressure later on and dishing punishment.

 

Well, actually V10, that's more of a recent thing, not really at 147, more in his recent few fights he's stood his ground way more and pretty much fights in the pocket, he's become more Toney esque, an in the pocket counter puncher.

I don't expect him to move much against Cotto even early.

 

He pressures/stands his ground when his opposition is weak.

 

Lewis-Tyson, Pac-Mosley.

Mayweather-DLH isn't even Floyds most boring fight.

 

I rather enjoyed PBF/ODH ... seeing PBF get peppered with a jab he had no answer for ... seeing him tamed into running for 8 rounds ... and the joy of an overall disappointing performance by PBF from which he himself saw no chance for redemption ...

Yup. Floyd is going to walk Cotto down. It'll be a very exciting fight from the first bell until Cotto realizes that he can't go toe to toe with Floyd and then retreats for the rest of the fight.

It took a few such beating for Mayweather finally stop the excuses and fight Cotto. Now he is sure he can keep his 0, cause even though skills pays the bills invisible man only exist in the movies.

 

Fraud admits he has nightmares about losing. The best thing for boxing would have been the judges giving that skilless bum Castillo the decision which he did earn. When I bought a new car. I scratched it on purpose. Then, it is over. Don't have to worry. You almost have to lose to be considered an alltime great. Coming back from adversity is what life is all about aside from reproduction of course.

I've often wondered about this myself. PBF may have developed into a greater FIGHTER (been more willing to seek out/ accept tough challenges, -and been more popular as a result) had he not got the dec in the first Castillo fight, & we, as fans would have benefitted.

 

Mayweather will have a harder fight than expected, that's my feeling as of today. Mayweather hasn't fought someone as good as Cotto in a long time. Cotto's at least as big as Mayweather and he's stronger physically than credited. Mayweather's tendency to lean on the rope will expose him to Cotto's bodywork. I still expect Maywether to win but I expect a closely fought battle. Hopefully, Cotto beats him!

I must add that that if Mayweather dominates as much as people here expects it, I'll be very impressed. I don't believe Cotto's a soft touch, far from it.
