He MAY have faster hands, but he doesn't throw combinations like Juan, nor does he throw the sheer volume of punches that Juan throws. Freitas was quicker than Juan too....look what that got him.

damn, including TamTam's prediction in his article, it's more than a 7:1 ratio for Juan to Julio. I was surprised that the odds were 5-1 for Juan, this is even more surprising.

 

I agre. This is a close fight, but it seems as if either we're all thinking along the same lines (Julio plays into Juan), Juan's THAT good....or Julio is still better remembered for being sparked by Pollo.

Whatever it is, Julio shouldn't be such a heavy 'dog. He's a better than good fighter and Juan is quite flawed. There are very real chances for the upset, IMO.

I still haven't decided if i'm gonna put my perfect predicting record on the line for this fight

 

a perfect prediction record doesn't mean a whole helluva lot if you simply abstain from predicting outcomes of close fights. ::

 

ok pacman fight was easy but my first pic was pavlik ko7 over taylor so there you go! but me holding back my prediction for this fight is only due to the fact that i never saw either diaz fight. so it would be a real shot in the dark..

 

ok. if you've never seen either one fight, then i agree - you can't be expected to make a prediction. you're off the hook.

Juan Diaz by decision. It will be a good fight but Juan outworks Julio. No way he ko's him though. IF he does it will be Juan's best performance yet.

 

Juan Diaz will be outpointed or stopped WHEN he faces someone with power, boxing skills and movement. Julio will sit and trade too much losing the early rounds, he'll come on late but lose an UD.

 

Juan Diaz by UD in a great fight.

Julio will start very well early and will land down the middle with his right hand with frequency...may even stun or hurt Juan.

But ultimately Julio just doesn't handle pressure well enough...especially the high workrate, smothering kind.

And Juan has grown in his boxing skill and strength...while Julio has already plateaued.

Juan takes over in the middle rounds after a good even start and closes strong against a frustrated Julio who just doesn't let his hands go enough in the latter stages.
