You'd be amazed how quickly that money can dry up. Especially when you live that kind of lifestyle.

    Just ask MC Hammer.

Fair enough on your first sentence.

I don't know him well enough to comment on your second.

I disagree with your third. I don't think family is indicative of anything either way. I can't think of a family that thinks the same way on any topic, much less money-management.

Just a couple of quick questions. When cats predict that a fighter will be stopped by cuts or swelling how often has that shit ever happened. I am willing to bet that shit never happens. Man that shit never happens. Anyways my prediction is this. If PBF is allowed to wear the gloves that protects his hands then he will stop Hatton later in the fight. If he does not wear the pillows then I say an easy decision.

And just to address the PBF money situation. There is a possibility that he could go broke. Hell I hope the dude pays his taxes. But if he does lose all of his money then that's on him. Mike Tyson/PBF do not represent black athletes. That is an ignorant statement.

Another thing. How is it that PBF will sit around for hours and grant fans interviews and sign all autographs. Name other big name superstar fighters that do shit like that that are supposedly assholes. I'm in agreement that PBF does shit for show and for TV. He's an entertainer and does everything he can to entertain. Now am I tired of his bullshit and wish that he would show other sides to himself. But like I have stated numerous times. I'm a fan of what he does in the ring. The other shit I could care less. I'll Holla 5000

Another thing why haven't any of PBF's so-called boys tell him to chill the fuk out. If he had anyone around him that really gave a rat ass about him he would be making more money. If you think about it PBF should have hella endorsements but due to his antics he has none which have cost him mult-millions. I'll Holla 5000

From what's offered (nobody outside of Floyd's immediate circle truly knows), most of those closest to him appear to be yes-men. Ellerbe's one of the few who has his best interests at heart, but with loyalty also comes knowing your role. I mean, if anyone gave a shit about him, they'd have told him to leave "Yep" in the studio.

For what it's worth though, it was Ellerbe's doing that got Floyd on Dancing With the Stars. According to a David Mayo article a month or so ago, Ellerbe said he was working on getting Floyd on the show for about a year before they finally agreed.

I'm pretty sure he's also with Ice Link and a energy drink company. It's a tough sell for most boxers. I mean, Oscar was part of the "Man Law" commercials for Miller Lite, but to my knowledge was the only one amongst the group who never uttered a word during any of the spots.

As a non-member observer, Oscar followed the rules of Man-Law:

mayweather is difficult to beat. his quickness and defense pose problems. as don king and paul mooney would say, hatton has that one intangible "the complexion with protection".
in the end I feel as though hattons whiteness will be too much to overcome.

Why do people act like Hattons a sloth? This dude has fast hands and feet and aggressive and I don't think Floyd can deal with it for 12rds IMO

    Quoted for truth.

This is a situation boxers/athletes of all colours get themselves in. Surround yourself with yes men and not only miss opportunities but maybe start slipping earlier then you should.

I've got Hatton winning this. Late TKO/KO.

No, he's just crying cos at school he was probably picked on cos of his race.
Back in my day, coloured folk stood up and were accepted into our gang once they'd endured this and taking a shoe-ing.

SlyStaff obviously couldn't/didn't and was driven away from the glorious UK.

i believe people will be suprised by Floyd's strength in this fight....while Hatton will be stronger, i dont think he'll be the hugely stronger bully that people are making him out to be

he's been at 147 for a while now and has fought more larger/stronger fighters than Hatton has...i can't recall seeing him pushed too much physically against DLH or Baldomir :dunno:

The closer this fight gets, the more convinced I am that Hatton's style is made to measure for this fight.

I expect PBF to try and pot shot early doors, allowing Hatton to chase him and wear himself down walking into elusive and hard counters before opening up late on as he looks for a stoppage.

Hatton, on the other hand, is going to have to EAT shots as he comes in, but his strength and his chin are definate plus points so he should be able to do so. Once he gets inside, he'll try to lean on, clinch and work PBF inside. He'll try to sap PBF's strength and build up a lead in the middle of the fight once he has dragged PBF into an inside brawl.

I would think that he also has an edge in power in this fight, too. those suggesting that he does not have quick hands and one punch KO power are wrong (Collazo was KD, Castillo was KO, Maussa was KO, Tsyzu quit etc)

If he's able to do this, he has every chance IMO.

I think Hatton envisages a 'Tszyu' type of fight, in which he'll come out for each round, take shots coming forward and then he'll go to work.

However, that plan worked at 140 and Hatton's only foray into 147 saw a winning, but poor performance v Collazo. He seemed to lose strength, stamina and some of his power, especially late on and he looked ready to go in the last round. No question in my mind about that.

If Hatton really has acclimatised to the weight this time (Billy Graham told Hatton not to take the Collazo fight, apparently, as it was too soon), then his gameplan might be enough. If not, he gets countered to death.

I'll go with my heart- Hatton UD

    WAR HATTON!!!! :blobbox: :slap:

The closer the fight gets the more convinced I'm am that it is going to be a mismatch in Floyd's favour.

Hatton gets hit way too much and is open for all of FLoyd's best shots. I'm beginning to see Floyd winning this fight BIG: 8-0 (because he'll finish Ricky in the 9th)

IF Floyd trained properly for this fight (assuming DWTS wasn't too much of a distraction) and comes in injury free, I see another virtuoso performance from Floyd...and this is the fight in which he'll win over alot of his haters and cement his superstar status!

I think you're an idiot to think he COULDN'T be broke.

Scottie Pippen lost $20 million in one year in investments. This was while he was with the Trailblazers and made $18 million per year.

I honestly think you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise. Put it this way, if I'm a financial advisor and I see a guy walking around with $100,000 in cash on a daily basis AND he's wearing millions in jewelry...skimming money from him is easy.

Besides, where were these guys when James Prince punked him and got money off him?

If he's so smart, why was there a near $500,000 tax lien against his Baldomir purse?

Guys who are wise with money don't have tax issues. The ones who do obviously have their faith placed in the wrong spot.

It's nothing to get worried about. Pretty Boy has a lot of rich friends like 50 cent so I'm sure they'll give him a job if he goes broke.

I know it's irrelevant to your post/point, but that bolded part reminded me...

I find it funny that Hatton fans/supporters STILL bring up Dancing With the Stars, to the point where they pose hypotheticals at Floyd - "What IF you made it to the finals? How would you have prepared for both..?" Who cares, he went out TWO MONTHS AGO, was training before, and has been training ever since.

Oddly enough, I agree with the sentiment of your post, but disagree that it will actually happen. Those who hate Floyd will continue to hate Floyd. If the fight is 12-0, they'll either claim the judges missed the fight, or that Floyd was boring. If its 8-4 or closer, they'll claim Hatton was robbed. Floyd can knock him out, and they'll say something was off w/ Hatton, or that he was out of his element at 147, blah blah blah.

I think it will cement his claim atop the P4P throne (or reclaim it, for those who've felt compelled to drop him in the past year or so). But his critics will remain.
