Why do you think its an easy fight/pick for Cotto dsimon?

Mosley is the best fighter Cotto's faced in his entire career. If Cotto wins (which I doubt but its possible), rest assured it will not be easy.

Its interesting to see the parallels of this fight to Trinidad/Hopkins. In both fights you have the highly decorated aging, future HOF American fighter, going against the young Puerto Rican power punching bomber who has been mowing down everybody.

The age differences are similar. Both Mosley and Hopkins are both 36 at the time of the fight. Cotto is 27, and Trinidad was 28 at the time of the fight. Both Puerto Rican took the new division by storm. Their signature KO's at that weight were against good but albeit small fighters for their weight (Judah, Joppy). Both Puerto Ricans have a reputation for being noticeably stunned and/or dropped in many fights

Both Mosley and Hopkins both had recent dominant wins in their respective fights. Both were champs at the sigining of the fight (although the WBC recently stripped Mosley of his interim champ status).

The consensus seems to be similar in both fights. Both Americans are betting underdogs, and the consensus seems to be that the youth and punching power of the young Puerto Ricans will be too much for the aging Americans.

The difference being Hopkins matched up FAR more favourably with Trinidad, stylewise.

    Very Nice!

But there are some MAJOR differences:

Hopkins was always a versatile boxer with great stamina, defense, ring generalship and intelligence. Trinidad had always seemed susceptible to movement.

Hopkins had significant natural size advantages over Trinidad and had proven consistency with 13 successful defenses up to that point and having not been beaten in 8 years or so.

Yeah I agree there Trinidad was far more accomplished than Cotto at the time of the fight.

Hopkins was always a versatile boxer but in previous fights up to their encounter he was mauling guys and ppl didn't think he'd box and move.

So its true there are some differences as well as similarities.

And I would say that Mosley is more accomplished than Hopkins was at in 2001.

A very hard fight to pick. Haven't gone back and forth with picking a fight like I have with this one in a long time.

I'm going with Mosley TKO 10

This is possibly the largest voter turn out (69) that we've seen on these message boards, five hours before a fight.

What were the numbers on De La Hoya - Mayweather, anyone recall?

Interestingly, most of the foremost Fightbeat analysts are on the side of Miguel Cotto....

Most of the Mosley voters are a bunch of fanboys!

Wow, many more votes for Cotto. I'll go with Cotto too. Nobody has ever stopped Mosley so I doubt Cotto will. But I think Cotto can take a decision.
