You defeat speed with a great jab. DLH has that jab.

When he touches Floyd , Floyd is going to feel power he's never felt before and dance the night away. As a result DLH will win with a jab and a smattering of power punches per round when the opportunity presents itself, in what will look like BOXING 101.

If Floyd finds the cajones to go toe to toe with Oscar it will be a much better fight , but Oscar will still make him pay too heavy a price and you'll see another Castillo like fight for Floyd , only this time Floyd doesn't get the decision and the fight will be much worse for Floyd.

The only real question is Oscar's stamina ... but I think he's coming in VERY motivated and is coming in ready for a 12 round war.

You could see it last night in his face , the same solemn attitude and demeanor he had for Mayorga and for Vargas.

Oscar is too big , too strong and too skilled for Floyd to do his usual ring dance.

Oscar by decision or late stoppage.

Count me in with you and rippa on this angle.... I definitely could see it. I don't know if it is explicit (and it very well could be!) but I think that if you read all the signs you will see that Mayweather and De La Hoya both want to save face for this fight. Whether it is an all out conspiracy to get floyd in with golden boy or not (and it might very well be) I think everything about this fight suggests that the guys have made an arraingement of sorts.

If you and rippa do a bandwagen let me know cause i am on it. Look at the Hopkins fight as an example.

I've been favoring Mayweather by UD since the fight was announced. I'm not sure what changed my mind but i'm going to take Oscar by decision.

Dela Hoya was tired in the Vargas fight. He just inflicted too much damage on Vargas for it to make any difference. I doubt he'll be able to damage Floyd in this way.

DLH wins mid-way through the 3rd round, he lands a mean uppercut on Floyd against the ropes, follows it up with a left hook to the head, then lands an overhand right to Floyds motionless body laying on the canvas. Ref doesn't finish the count.

    DLH KO 3

    Floyd by UD...

DeLa's ONLY Chance is a KO...To DO that,DeLa has to Go for BROKE...

REED Intially Thought DeLa should MAKE Floyd Lead, then Counter...But Floyd is Toooooooooo SMART for that...If NEITHER Guy is Punching & the Crowd is BOOing like Crazy, that'll Affect DeLa MORE than it Will Floyd...

DeLa has ALWAYS Been More Cognizant of his Perception & Image than Floyd...Floyd COULDN'T Care Less if he's Getting BOOed for Being "Boring"...A Win is A WIN to Him...

DeLa WILL B the Aggressor, but How Looooooooong will his Historically POOR Stamina ALLOW him to Force the Issue???:dunno: ...Also,DeLa's ALWAYS Struggled w/SPEED Fighters &/or DEFENSIVE Minded Fighters...NOW he's Fighting a Combination of BOTH...

    DESPITE the Shit Talk,Floyd NEVER Gets STUPID N the Ring...He'll SAY,"Toe to Toe,this & that",but Floyd WILL Fight N a DISCIPLINED Manner...

DeLa's ONLY Chance is to B AGGRESSIVE & Catch Floyd while he's being STUPID....It COULD Happen, just Don't BET on it...

ODLH drops Floyd Jr. in 7 or 8th; PBF gets up to lose 12UD. Floyd Jr. is just not offensive enough to beat Oscar. This fight is Floyd Mayweather Sr. Vs. Ray Leonard all over again. Same styles same fight!!!

I cannot remember a time where two fights have baffed me like Freitas/Diaz and Floyd/Oscar.

I think Floyd is a better fighter, but he is fighting:
    1.Way above where he ought
2.A better fighter(even if past it) than Floyd has ever fought.

Oscar always was troubled by hand and foot speed and Floyd has that. However, Oscar will be facing a weaker man for the first time in years. He hasn't been the stronger guy since 140, I mean 10 years about. I guess Pea might have been weaker, but all analysis goes out the door with a dude who had no shame or honor and was willing to stink and survive so his idiot fans could argue he won when he clearly did not. I think the only take I disagree with is Floyd easily. It will be close. Oscar won't have an easy time and I hope he has plans A thrugh Z ready to go.

Floyd UD. Most will have it between 7-5 and 9-3 Mayweather. It'll probably be 3-3 after 6.

    Precisely!

I see it being even after 6 also and then Floyd stretching away down the stretch with possibly Oscar having one big final round...but too little too late.

This is almost a mismatch. I cannot see Oscar being that competitive as some of you are saying, much less see him winning. Oscar will get out speeded by the younger and faster Mayweather. Floyd will land counter right hands over Oscar's jab all night long. Oscar will land glancing blows here and there but he won't land anything damaging enough to put Floyd down.

    Mayweather via one sided UD.

    Bedwetter won't win

I don't think he will be as fast as he was, this is his first fight at 154 and it's against DLH, not a good idea IMO.

DLH by stoppage in 9 rounds or DLH UD

Nah...I'm compelled to stick with logic this time.

My GUT had told me that Gatti would make a fight of it with Floyd, and my prediction was that Floyd would struggle a bit at first and then come back and dominate Arturo (kinda like the Judah fight)...so that was my erroneous prediction. My LOGIC had told me from the getgo that it would be an utter mismatch!!

So this time I'm sticking with logic.

Oscar is too easy to hit (limited sluggers like Gatti and Mayorga hit him fairly often), has a tendency to slow down in the latter stages, doesn't tend to "fight tall"...so his height advantage may be largely irrelevant...his best punch (left hook) is nullified by Floyd's style of defense, floyd is better defensively, smarter, better mover, better reflexes, more adaptable....and Floyd is hungrier for this fight than Oscar is (better believe it).

Gotta go with logic. Floyd ends Oscar's career and Double L, will be wearing my signature for a month!

Floyd was hungry to make a statement against Baldomir. Making predictions of scoring brutal KOs leading up to that fight. Then he hits and runs for his life for 12 rounds. He'll not want to invade Oscar's punching zone at anytime. He'll play it safe. The hell with all the fight hype. He's not going to suddenly become a blood thirsty ring warrior and show us something different. If he wins, it'll be a lackluster 'play it safe' type win.

    You will be surprised!

Floyd will fight in a way that no one expects, least of all Oscar and actually have Oscar in trouble late in the fight.

    Remember these words.

Floyd will start out boxing as usual, but he'll be agressive and after a few rounds he'll be taking it to Oscar and by the late rounds, Oscar will be dazed, confused and happy to see the final bell.

The pickings for this fight reminds me of Jones-Ruiz where everybody picked 1 guy to win a decision and the other guy to win by KO.
