I've only picked against Floyd 3 times, this fight, Castillo (first match) and Judah. I was pretty close on the first two times.. and they say 3rd time is the charm.+

I wonder if Floyd would've agreed to fight Hopkins at 154, which may not have been a stretch when Hops still hovered at middleweight (he dried out at 156 for Oscar).

He would have bitten off more than he could chew in attempting Hopkins at 154.

Hopkins would have beat him like he was his daddy..

interesting that Kofi Jantuah was one of PBF's sparring partner. if nothing else, the guy can punch. wonder why PBF wouldn't allow us to watch his sparring.

You should know that. Mayweather always looks like shit in sparring. So did Leonard and Ali.

    I hope I'm wrong...

Floyd wins a non-action fight by decision.

I just submitted an official prediction elsewhere with that same exact scenario - Floyd by decision in a 116-112ish type fight.

And the four rounds Oscar wins have more to do with Floyd running than Oscar catching up to him.

    "However"

    best case scenario...

    Mayweather UD.

I can only see one winner and thats Floyd.

I think he box and move all night to a decision win.

Oscar in his prime may of had a great chance of beating Mayweather,But this current version of Oscar is getting outboxed.

Actually, I believe the judges will favour Floyd.

I think Oscar only wins a decision if it is well deserved. But that's just me.....

    I dont

the crowd will favor DLH. The huge uproars and applause may influence what the judges see in there. This isn't the masoluem that was Mosley Collazo or Mayweather Baldomir this crowd will be roaring all through 12 mostly in Oscar's favor

Floyd will look like the winner but I think Oscar will get the nod

:crafty: ^There's a few noteable Fraud fans who've picked Oscar, they are clearly nervous, and so are picking him just to balance thier anxious emotions a fraction.

I was in the same boat with you for Mayweather-Judah. Remember my prediction of "no-contest", and then came Zab's antics in the 10th round.

    Sooooooo close. :crafty:

I'd like to see Floyd KTFO.

I'd like to see Oscar beaten up then given a gift decision.

I'd like to see Oscar face down on the canvas.

Any scenario where one guy takes an ass kicking, then gets screwed is satisfactory in my eyes.

The most likely scenario (and worst case scenario from a fan point of view) is Floyd wins a boring decision. This could very well be a fight Floyd wins, but loses in the court of public opinion.

It's possible that Floyd will fight aggressively to lure Oscar into leading so he can eat him up with counters. At some point Floyd must make a stand and fight Oscar in order to get his respect.

Oscar has always thrown wide shots, especially when he's throwing combinations. Floyd will land inside Oscar's flurries consistently. Oscar has to accept that going in and must have full confidence in his chin in that he can handle Floyd's punch.

    "However"

A perfectly timed counter can surprise and hurt guys with the best chin and Oscar must be mindful of Floyd's counters if Floyd sets his feet and counters hard. If Floyd's punching off his back foot, Oscar won't be wary of what's coming back at him.

The tone will be set early and whoever wins the early exchanges, will win the fight. Meaning, how Oscar reacts to Floyd's counters early will set the tone. Mosley was successful against Oscar because Oscar wouldn't punch back if Shane landed inside his combinations. Oscar must not get discouraged by getting beaten to the punch.

Outside of a one punch KO, I don't see Oscar winning this fight. Floyd will be too slick early and will put too many rounds in the bank for Oscar to catch up down the stretch.

With that said, Floyd isn't the same fighter he was a few years ago. I don't think he's got the wheels to bounce in and out like he did against Corrales. Oscar has never been great at walking down guys with good movement and I don't see him effectively cutting off the ring later in the fight to run Floyd into the necssaey traps to catch him with the homerun shot he'll need to pull out the fight.

Floyd by decision, but a scenario where either guys gets robbed or seriously injured is more than acceptable.

    dsimon writes;

And this fact, so adroitely noted by fighter makes things very interesting. Despite how people rib each other and tease each other mercilessly here . I have noticed that the boards are a pretty good tool for predicting the winner of a fight, or at least getting one in the right stratosphere. I would say that the closeness of the vote at this point means that Oscar has a better chance than percieved by most.

What is interesting is that even though the boards reflect (in pure numbers) a close fight, as individuals people are diametrically against the board's general opinion. Quite a few people believe that the guy they pick to win will dominate. This fact would usually mean one guy would have a lot moe votes than the other guy.

Usually in a fight where one guy will dominate (take Gatti versus Mayweather) the board vote is skewed towards the dominant fighter. Before you guys laugh consider this: Futures traders have bet on and been correct in picking the presidential winning candidate every time...

I only hope one of them gets seriously injured. :bears:
