At the risk of sounding like Double L, the fact that they're wearing 10 oz. gloves prevents me from picking a KO either way, though of course a cuts stoppage either way is certainly possible.

    CASTILLO

i gave ricky my heart all those years ago. he promised to be true to me, to be faithful. i forgave him and forgave him, again and again, i believed him when he said it was all warren's fault. (what a fool i was.) now i see he was a LIAR all along.

i wasted the best years of my life on you, Ricky. i can't get them back - i accept that now. but, at the very least, i can pray that Jose Luis Castillo breaks your heart, like you broke mine...

A broken hatton fan, a broken man.

Should hatton win rooster, would he rekindle the candle you may hold for him in your heart?

The mere fact that hatton is fighting an elite opponent in castillo, is that not enough to re-ignite even a glimmer of hope in your jaded, northern heart?

I hate Fraud as much as anybody, but I'm sick of the sight of Hatton's press releases talking shit about Mayweather, despite Ricky having turned him down multiple times, and being labelled by some elements of the press as an "honest, likeable, loveable, blue collar hero"... that shit doesn't add up. A Castillo victory will be pleasant.

sorry man, you will be horribly disappointed. Hatton fights nothing like Chico, holds constantly and doesn't put punches together from the outside. Hatton will win this. We will all say it could have gone either way and be praying there isn't a rematch.

The thing is is that Castillo is a damn good inside fighter and won't allow Hatton to hold. Hatton will be forced to fight. And we all know that Hatton's defense sucks. With that being said I'm looking forward to seeing Castillo put it on his ass. I'll Holla 5000

I will be lovin it if your version comes true but I just can't see it. I think Castillo is a far cry from the guy who fought in Mayweather/Castill 1 and Chico/Castillo 1. That last fight of his was garbage. Constant holding, no inside fighting and just plain crap. :nono:

Hatton has looked like shit the last few fights. If the ref lets him foul and hold it will be an absolutely horrible fight... like his fight against Juan.

Castillo can still punch for twelve rounds. Hatton can be dangerous early, Castillo can come on late.

I think this fight will be contraversal. Ricky will try to hold and hump the last six rounds of the fight. It is hard to think Castillo can beat Hatton because the Hatton that beat the Columbian bobble doll wold eat Castillo alive, but this is not that Hatton....

Castillo by split decision in a stinker:shit:

i wouldn't exactly call the hatton that beat urango at his peak - you mean he's declined even further?

it's strange. i think depending on how popular the opponent is, the ref may allow less stink. if we're lucky, the ref will lay down the law and hatton will have no choice but to fight, in which case he will get stopped late.

i wouldn't wanna bet on this fight because if hatton is allowed to dry-hump, i'm not sure anyone can beat him. but maybe he is. maybe he's not.

i don't have to make one yet. to me, it all depends on the ref.

    Nice title Double :bears:

Come on man, it all depends on the ref?

The ref wasn't that diligent with hatton in the collazo fight, and collazo came close to winning that fight.

If castillo wins it's going to be because he still has something left, and can neutralize hatton's clinching with hard accurate shots on the inside, and hurt hatton, discourage him, and punish him for clinching.

You're placing too much importance on the ref. If castillo has enough left, and is destined to beat hatton, he shall.

"Castillo lost because of the ref".

ok. i agree that it doesn't "all" come down to the ref. but one thing about the collazo fight is strength. why do you suppose hatton moved back down? because at 147 he found he couldn't muscle his man.

now castillo's not a small light-weight. but he is a light-weight nontheless. and it's entirely possible that whereas he couldn't push collazo around, he'd be able to control castillo.

i think in general his humping is more effective at 140 than it would've been at 147 - and that's why collazo's success doesn't necessarily mean castillo won't be hampered by the hump.

castillo is NOT a lightweight :nono:

When was the last time he weighed in at 135?

I reckon they'll weigh around the same on the night. Hatton won't be the bigger man.

Castillo's "strength" is obviously more punching power, not raw physical strength like hatton, but castillo is pretty strong himself.

I have to admit though, although I really think hatton won that collazo fight, I was very surprised by how much less effective he was at 147.

You'd have to agree that hatton is extremely strong at 140, you'd think he'd at least be "very strong" at 147.

Look at mosley, he was a lightweight, and if anything, his physical strength looked even greater at 147.

I'm consistently the best at predicting fights. Everyone knows this. My legend extends across the boxing world. Look at all of the recent prediction threads that I have contributed to: my record is 100%. So follow my lead and make some money.

    With that said...

Hatton by decision. It'll be a close fight with no one getting hurt and the judges favouring the undefeated fighter.

Put a sock in it, Nadal groupie.

But yes, Hatton by decision is the most likely outcome.

he's a big light-weight. "was" a big light-weight. but he's still not as strong as natural 147 pounders like collazo was.

also, and i know i'm ridiculed for making a deal out of it, but they will be using 10 oz gloves, which except for his last fight with Ngoudju, is a departure for Castillo. his punches won't sting like they did. it's just a fact. neither will Hatton's, but like you said, strength and pressure is more his game anyways.

and i agree. Hatton is extremely strong at 140. but whereas i think 140 is right around his natural fighting weight, Mosley was artificially at 135 - I just think he's a significantly bigger guy than Hatton. so it's not too surprising that he was able to be "strong" at 147, whereas Hatton found it less suitable. plus, Mosley's been known to dabble in performance enhancers, whether he was aware of it or not.

Actually yeah, because mosley is so solid and has a big head, he is taller than you imagine. He is a legit 5'9, to be honest he looked no shorter than vargas.

Where as hatton is pretty small, 5'6 at the most.

    Still surprising though.

Probably not a good comparison seeing as Duran is one of the best fighters of all time, but look at him. He's around 5'7 right? He was a strong bastard all the way up to middleweight.

Look for Castillo to be busy while Hatton hits then attempts to hold. Castillo is not idle during the clinches.

Someone is getting worndown, and it is probably not Castillo, unless he gets old overnight. I think Hatton will be in DEEP waters late in the fight. Castillo won't sit in his stool and not come out.

Definitely a PICK'EM fight, especially in Vegas.

    Prediction after the weighin.
