Hatton will win. He is too big for Castillo who has not shown much at 140

In a fight between a guy, who is slightly better than Juan Urango and a guy, who is slightly better than Randall Bailey, I´ll go with youth and pick Ricky Hatton by decision.

i invite all to re-watch Castillo/Ngoudju with the sound off, and then reconsider your pick. if you're picking Hatton because of his youth, or his better hand-speed, or his humping tactics, fine. but it's silly, for real, to pick him because the HBO dummies made Castillo/Ngoudju seem close and more dramatic than it was.

Castillo beat Ngoudjo around 116-112 I thought.

yeah. that's about right. which isn't the one-sided beat-down that some people thought it would be, but it certainly wasn't a loss, or even close to a loss, as many are suggesting.

i think it was a classic case of a fighter(Ngoudju) performing better than expected, and as a result, getting rounds he didn't deserve.

there's plenty of other examples of this phenomena but i can't think of any right now.

Morales - Espadas is one and Morales - Chi is another. I agree Castillo won clearly.

agREED...REED Re-Watched this Fight just 2 Nights Ago...

NGoudju "Troubled" Castillo EARLY w/his Handspeed & Combination Punching...AND Because Castillo was Literally Ho-Humming his Way thru the Fight...

HBO even Pointed Out how Castillo was Joking Around w/Photographers as he Sat on his Stool N btwn Rounds...Dude WAS NOT "into" the Fight AT ALL,2 Put it Mildly...

Then,Castillo's Trainer Told him he was LOSING,Castillo Shot Back,"I'm NOT Losing to this Guy. This Guy ISN'T Beating Me." From there,it was Practically ALL Castillo...This Occurred Around the Halfway Mark or So...

NGoudju Took a POUNDING to the Body & Castillo's WORKRATE Clearly Carried the Latter Half of the Fight....

When Castillo DECIDED to "Turn it Up",he Looked like the SAME OLD Castillo to REED,AND there wasn't SHIT NGoudjo Could Do About it...That Fight was MORE about Castillo Being UNinspired, than him Being "Old" or "Shot"...

They had Morales clearly beating Chi if I remember right. Morales-Espadas? Morales faded like a motherfucker in the 2nd half of that fight for some reason. I had that fight a draw and Espadas easily could have won. However the house fighter got the benefit of the call.

i know you don't agree but i consider vargas/wright an example of this. yes it was a close fight. yes you could've given it to Wright. but imo the outrage, the alleged robbery, was more due to the fact that Vargas was a rising star taking a tune-up fight, was accompanied in his ring walk by a Bengal tiger, and that for the first time he'd shaved his bangs off, and he was fighting a guy that few people had heard of, and that almost noone gave a shot to win.

seriously. that fight was close. but Vargas pulled it out just as much as Wright did.

but more to the point, Winky did much better than expected. he was billed at that time as a cutey boxer, who was gonna try to steal a victory, but he came out guns blazing, and not one person wasn't impressed with how well he stood up to Vargas, and blocked his shots, and traded with him. Merchant fricken pisses himself when a guy fights out of character just to impress the crowd. but it don't mean he necessarily won. imo.

You are correct that I disagree (strongly). There's no way Vargas won 7 rounds. People say "Vargas won the championship rounds"!! I say "He won 2 out of the last 3 rounds but didn't win more than 3 the rest of the fight". Late rounds don't count for anymore than early rounds. Once again the house fighter got the benefit of the doubt. If the "championship" rounds did count for more Espadas would have gotten the nod over Morales. Regardless, I get bored arguing that stuff.

he's not racist. he's just anti-American. and pro-europe. i can't imagine such an allegiance, as Europe is hardly a unified front, but if you read through his post, it's clearly a case of a guy preferring one continent over another.

He doesn’t look as drain as his last two fights Hatton could be back to his best. He could possibly stop Castillo if that’s the case.

One of the coaches in my ABC has free tickets for the Dunne card. Says he wouldn't go if he had to pay. :nono:

Ha ha we're not haters.....just the inside word amongst men in the know is that these shows aren't worth the asking price. Just my tuppence.

PS Hatton looks in great shape.

I know I think Hatton will get the KO now.

As for Dunne, I’m aware of the politics but fuck it I don’t care. I’ll support him anyway. Would you stop going to the Irish games because the FAI are a bunch of muppets?

And there are a lot of Dunne haters out there.
    Jealousy really.

You hardly need to be in the know. The major problem I have with this is the absence of even a half-decent undercard. If Ben is fighting an unknown euro challenger, fine, but they obviously don't want to spend tuppence on the u/c, hence them trying to draft in some bumov for mc cullough on the cheap. It is exploitation...in terms of just fights, these shows from the point have hardly produced anything memorable yet...

I agree and I was really looking forward to see wayne in action, but for a change a promotor let the public down...

I thought we turned the corner when this card was announced...

    Dunne
    McCouugh
    Fagan

    ...not bad.

What is the alternative don’t go….I’ve been to all Bens fights. Have a few pints with the lads and turn up just in time for Dunne, or Rock if I’m in the mood for a giggle.
