Calzaghe damaged his hand in the slapfest with Manfredo. He'll hurt it as soon as he lets it go the first time. It'll make them even.

I'm surprised that nobody picks Calzaghe by KO considering he has proven power and Kessler's chin isn't proven at all.

Unification Bout with Calzaghe Still On!
Mikkel Kessler is apparently nursing a hand injury with a deep bone bruise. This hand injury has been severe enough to prevent Kessler from sparring in the final weeks of preparation for the biggest fight of his career. Kessler is evidently playing down the injury and the unification super fight is still on bu the injury could be the reason behind camp Kessler's shying away from the media and appearing in public as little as possible. Kessler hand injure is probably bullshit..just wanna make Calzaghe feel a bit safe or something....he wouldn't fight with an injured hand...:nono:

 

This picture is from the 7 day weighin (wich was actually held Monday) - that bonedeep bruise is hard to see. Looked perfectly fine in the TV interview on sunday too.



173lbs with a bodyfat % of 5,5 - Calzaghe did not want to tell his weight.

Calzaghe don't hit any harder than mundine who got some shots in on Kessler. Not to mention, Calzaghe isn't all that big of a puncher anyways.

 

A danish newspaper asked Kessler about the supposed injury today, his reply was: "where the hell did they get that from, thats not true at all, and i will be happy to bring a heavybag to the pressconference on thursday and show them".

 

Boy...



btw. Calzaghe was around the same weight as they were both inside 3% of the supermiddleweight limit at the time.

 

Well, hopefully the supposed Kessler "injury" is just a ploy from his camp or completely unfounded...

I would admire Kessler's guts for going to war regardless - but I'd really prefer he rather not.

I would HATE for this fight to be marred by any injury that makes either fighter go IN the ring at less than their best.

Once IN the ring, sure, those things can happen.
