Lara moved/ran for NO GODDAMN REASON.

Had he stood his ground more, he could have busted the Ging up. He was far too quick for Crapnelo whenever he opened up, but in typical Lara fashion, he didn't open up enough.

It would be a good fight. I know you hate Canelo. I would favor him in that fight but not by a lot.

Father time is a sneaky bastard that can creep up on a fighter on any given night. That's the ONLY reason Canelo has a chance against Cotto.

I don't know if there's ANYBODY who honestly thinks that Canelo could whup Cotto if Miggy's on his A-game.

Nobody's more overrated than Cotto on this forum, though... He wouldn't impress against Canelo, I guarantee it

He wins but he doesn't dominate the guy and Canelo is garbage

I don't see how Cotto is overrated. He's a damn good fighter, that has performed at the highest level for many a year.

Nobody is calling him an all time elite fighter or picking him to beat Duran or Leonard, we Cotto fans are just saying he's an excellent and solid fighter. He fell short in a big way against Pacquiao, but gave Floyd a good run for his money, and just beat the absolute shit out of the middleweight champion.

    WHUP Cotto, No...BEAT Cotto???...Yes...

REED Ain't PICKING Canelo, Necessarily, yet REED Makes the Young Buck a (VERY) Slight BETTING Favorite, @ this Point...

BOTH Guys Prefer to Operate in the POCKET, SIMILAR Bodytypes (Though Canelo is the LARGER, YOUNGER Man)...Cotto has CLEAR Edges in EXPERIENCE & FOOTWORK, While Canelo has Better HANDSPEED...

BOTH Guys are Hittable...This is 1 of those Bouts where ANY Outcome is Literally Plausible...Early Doors KO for Either, Late Rounds KO, "Fight of the Year" Level SLUGFEST, 1 Sided UD by Either...ANYTHING Could Happen Here...

Yeah, REED's a Looooongtime FAN of Cotto's as Well...He Seems to Be PROPERLY Rated on Fightbeat...

Not OVERLY Praised, Yet Not OVERLOOKED Either...Even in an All-Time, Mythical Sense, Cotto Would WIN Some & LOSE Some, just as he's Done in Reality...

VERY Good (if Not Great), QUALITY Fighter...

    Miguel Cotto...

Unless Miggles ages overnight like Xman suggested, Miggles beats him up in a very clear decision win. He's just a significantly better, more skilled fighter.

I know one can suggest the Trout fight says otherwise, but I honestly think that's somewhat of an anomaly. A bad day at the office for Miggles, or a really bad style matchup, or both.

I think their respective Floyd fights are a better indication of what level fighters they are. Canelo looked like a clueless bum, and Miggles gave a very good account of himself.

Exactly, I think his rating is accurate on fightbeat. If anything he veers towards underrated, as there's a handful of guys here - including ye olde doggman - who act like he's a borderline scrub :kidcool:

Canelo is so stiff. He's so tight and slow and one-dimensional he might as well be a drawing of a vagina.

agREED. And it doesn't count unless there is a explanation for why each of the 199 is superior to Cotto.

That goes without saying. An explanation would be needed for each for the list to have any gravitas at all.

No doubt Miggles goes in the history books as a significantly greater fighter than Melvin Starling.

Teddy Atlas is right. Even though I thought Canelo beat Lara, Cotto-Lara would just not sell. Cotto-Canelo is huge! I'm certain that'll happen in 2015.

Even though Cotto is NOT an all time great by any means, there isn't 199 fighters better.

Cotto is a top 10 all time PR fighter, and considering how strong the history of PR boxing is, it makes me feel VERY doubtful that there's 199 guys ahead of him.
