As I was saying, Helenius just isn't at it. He's shown none of the timing or power at all. As I say, Chisora isn't doing much beyond working harder and for longer. Some of the rounds have been close though, and a lot of Chisora's stuff has been blocked cleanly or partially.

British commentary team a joke, Duke and Rawling trying to make out Finland is the bastion of all things corrupt.

Coming into the final round now and I still say that Helenius needs a stoppage.

Chisora just ate a massive right, biggest shot of the fight, and an uppercut. I think Chisora lost the 12th but I have him winning the fight. Helenius did win the 12th clearly.

Any Helenius win that is any more than 1 point is unfair.

Duke just gave Chisora the last round. I do fear for Dukes cognitive faculties.

Oh Christ, Rawling, please, shut the fuck up.

    Here come the scores........

    Split decision........

    115-113 Helenius
    115-113 Chisora
    115-113 Helenius

    Joke.

    That's unfair.

Helenius would still make for a better opponent for the Klits, Chisora would be a mismatched opponent. In saying that, all in all, he is pretty mediocre.

The thing about Helenius is that he has no jab. For Chisora to hit Wlad with the same "I-just-bought-a-punch-bag-look-at-this" bodypunches that he hit Helenius with, he would have to bust past that jab. If he didn't get nailed by the jab, he'd put so much effort into getting past that jab that he would gas sooner and get less done on the inside, or he would become cautious and get picked off.

Helenius saying he broke his right hand in the first round. That might explain some of the problems he had, but he is a predominantly left-handed fighter so I'm not sure.

Now I know that Povetkin has no chance against either Klit.

Povetkin was average right up to the finish, which was pretty good in and of itself. That last right hand was a keeper.

Povetkin was pretty sharp and based on this performance the again the 3rd best heavyweight in the world, even though Haye might defeat him. Povetkin has no weapons against Klitshkos but otherwise it looks like he is finally finding his form back. It seems that he will next defend his title against Rahman and Huck before cashing out against the big Ks.

Helenius was crap. It might be that he injured his hand in the first round (this is what he says) but even so this bout showed plenty of his weaknesses. Helenius' only plan of battle is to wait for the other guy to come in and then rough him up at close, but now that his counters did not work he had no plan B, he just waited in turtle defense with no footwork and got outworked. Even though he could probably beat Chisora with two good hands (as Chisora is stylistically a perfect opponent for him) I can't see him defeating Povetkin, Thompson or even Chambers. Props to Chisora too though, he was much better than I thought

You know what, i've slagged off Chisora in the past, but he's alright. Really took the fight to Helenius - who has the weirdest torso, don't you think?

Yep, Chisora did well. He worked hard for full rounds and seemed both surprisingly quick and skillful as he drove Helenius to the ropes. Chisora said afterwards that Helenius hurt him in the first (as he made Chisora retread quick) but pretty early Chisora found out that he could deal with Helenius' punch, whether that was because of the injury or not I don't know.

If Chisora fights like that he can give a fight to pretty much anyone not named Klitshko. I'd pick Chisora in this shape to beat Fury in a rematch

I like Chisora, when he's in shape, which he seems to have been in for this although I didn't see it

Chisora has one major flaw that is going to count against him in every fight that goes the distance: he delivers his punches with almost no snap. He belabours the shots into the target. He looked, at times, against Helenius....like a weaker man who couldn't hurt his opponent. Helenius just stood there soaking up these big, wide shots, and it gave the impression of a bored, disinterested giant being mildly annoyed by a pesky opponent. Chisora was landing but oddly, the harder Chisora worked the less he got for it because he looked like a guy who couldn't bother his opponent. Judges see a guy flail away to no effect and then back up the minute the opponent throws a shot.....makes a bad impression.

Yeah but not as good as Buncey was trying to make out. "Frowback to the 70's" I think Steves orange shoes were on a bit tight, making him testy and more outrageous than usual.

PS....Steve Bunce and Steve Lillis have the potential to become, on these long treks into the small hours, the Statler and Waldorf of boxing, as they exchange corny one-liners that only they find amusing

Yea, Chisora was landing some nice uppercuts and good digs to the body/head and some nice hooks too, but they weren't really discouraging Helenius.

    Fury would pummel Helenius, btw.

:giggle:. Yea, it weren't that good, but was good enough throughout. Some of the Finnish people had Helenius up 5-1 after six rounds :bangh:

Bunce had a go at Lillis for "drifting" at around 2Am, apparently Lillis wasn't up to staying awake and Bunce was mocking him for it. Lillis denied being asleep and said that as soon as he was asleep, Bunce would know it, as Lillis "dribbles" when he is asleep.

Anyone know where I can buy socks, similar to those that Bunce wore at the weekend?
