I like how McGuigan says that the jab is key to Haye winning, when we all know haye does not have a jab. Grabbing the centre of the ring against Wlad is NOT a good idea. Haye will get hit, and hit ALOT this way.

How I feel is that Wlad's ring intelligence is so much superior to Haye's, Haye will have to have the most masterful of masterful of performances to beat him.

Your sig is fucking harmful!! Should carry a "flashing images of an Australian" warning.

Barry McGuigan knows boxing inside out. I have no idea why he is carrying on the way he is.

Back in 2004, when Vitali fought Williams, Williams was shit hot and was coming off that KO of Tyson, Boxing Monthly gave Williams a great right up and everyone was sure that Danny could, quite literally, be the Champion of the World.

McGuigan sat in the SKY studio like a sole beacon flashing in an ocean of shit and hyperbole. Of course he had Paul Dempsey, Glenn "Posh Lass" McCrory and Johnny "12 Defences of the World Title" Nelson either side of him, so maybe it was easy to sound rational.

He {Barry} got it right when he said that Williams did not need short punches, but long punches, that he had to load up, step in and fire long across Vitali.

He got it right when he said that Williams looked good versus Tyson, but that this was a totally different sort of fight.

He got it right when he said that Williams might look good after 4 rounds at 260lbs vs Tyson, but that this was a 12 rounder with Vitali.

Jim Watt, who waited until the fight started to begin talking sense, immediately pointed out "Williams is 270lbs Ian, but look at the difference in frames of these two men".

How both McGuigan and Watt have departed, especially McGuigan, from such a relatively sane and calm stance, is beyond me.

Maybe its all part of their contract. Hype it up, tell everyone its Haye's to lose, reap the rewards later. Maybe they feel that Haye can genuinely win, and in the way they say he can. Maybe they know something we don't. It's possible.

Its so out of character for McGuigan. The guy is usually a bastion of restraint. Yet he sees fit now to go on TV and say, in one breath, that "Steward has tightened Wlad's defences up no end.......but I believe that Haye has a great chance to end it in the 6th......Klitschko has been down 10 times".

I mean, its like saying......"Lewis Hamilton won't win another Grand Prix Title. He looked good in 2008 but I saw him skid repeatedly off the track at Butlins in his Go-Kart in 1984"

    :tick::tick:

    Heh??? :dunno:

My favourite part of it, and perhaps the most important, if it is true, is how sparring partners, post-Brewster, decided that they could mess with Wlad, and he sent them home with broken noses and busted lips. If he can combine restraint with a sense of callous fury on Saturday night, then it could be painful for Haye.

Early or late, Wlad wins. I'd love to see him take care of business early, but I suspect he will take his time and beat Haye down slowly and may even carry him a bit when Haye has nothing left to dish out more punishment as payback for all of the shit-talking.

    Wlad by mid rounds stoppage.

Haye's only chance of winning is by bullrushing Wlad and hitting him with his right hand, this is where he will be picked off by Wlad and Wlad will land the right hand sooner or later and Haye will go cause his chin is not all that.

In my opinion, Haye does not hit as hard Sanders and Brewster do, two guys who stopped Wlad before. He has no chance.

I fear now for Wlad. 8 out of 8 "writers" at MaxBoxing have gone for Wlad to win. In 2005, they pretty much went the other way for the first Peter fight, and he won that. I hope thats not the Kellerman Curse at work.

I watched a few rounds of Wlad vs "Fast" Eddie Chambers last night. I think Chambers is the closest we can get to David Haye, 6'1" vs 6'3", 209.5lbs vs 213lbs. People sleep on Chambers, but for me, he has was underrated. Not saying he was a killer or anything, but he showed me two things I don't see in Haye

    1. An aility to keep his hands up all night. His hands were actually still up when Wlad hit him in the 12th. Haye doesn't keep his hands up. At all. He prefers to keep his hands down and fire up from the hip.

2.Real physical strength. Chambers lifted Wlad up or tried to lift him up on no fewer than 3 occasions in the first 2 rounds. He did this in response to Wlad trying to lean on him.

He has a chance, its boxing, its heavyweight boxing and its Wlad, so anything is capable. But Haye's window of opportunity is narrow, in both the technical and temporal sense. I do believe his chance must be early, and it must be big and repeated if he is to turn the trick. Effectively, Haye occupies a narrow slice of the roulette wheel, chances are the ball won't land in his area.

Irish, agreed everyone has a chance, but Haye's chances are very slim indeed.

He is getting knocked out and I for one will be thankful, I cannot stand the mouthy prick.

Yeah, win lose or draw, I just want the fight to happen.

If Haye wins it fair and square, I will give him credit and respect, and I will be here to eat crow.

But I think he is going to lose and I think he is going to spoil and look for pot-shots. I believe he will throw low-shots, headbutt in the clinches and run his braids into any cuts he can open up.

The guy is a cheat, he cheats with rabbit punches, pulling his opponents onto rabbit punches, hitting when guys are down, he got the benefit of a decision in Germany, yet calls them cheats, he calls Manny Steward a cheat, I can't tolerate a guy like that, he is what he accuses others of being, and therefore is a hypocrite.

This fight has me excited. I know that Haye is a litle bit overrated. With Wlad fights it is always hard to make a prediction when he fights a puncher. I am predicting a Wlad win by KO here.

    Officially - Wlad UD.

Hope I'm wrong. Wlad can get the KO if he goes for it.

I think Wlad wins by KO in the 10th!

I really want to see the upset but I just think Wlad being bigger and more diciplined fighter will get him the openings for the killshot.

Hay will have to really move around just to get decent angles. Still it will be an explosive fight.

As many others predict, I think Haye will get tenative after eating some hard jabs from Wlad, maybe a right hand or left hook as well.

Wlad will win a wide boring UD or stop him in the mid to late rounds.

I think sincerely that Wlad will win, he should win, it would take a monumental mistake from him to give a Haye a real opening or chance, Wlad is better in just about every regard, and a good big guy should be a "good small guy".

I am about out of patience by now anyways, I would prefer if the fight were to start in 4 mins...

If Wlad loses nobody in here is allowed to say anything for the next month....I think Reed is on the fence, but pretty much everyone else has picked WLad.
