Fire In The Sky (1993) -Rewatched this one again today after many years. Still a powerful film with sollid performances by most of its cast, particularly Robert Patrick (Terminator 2) as Mike Rogers and D.B. Sweeney as Travis Walton. Based on a true story it tells the account of a group of friends in Snowflake, Arizona who upon returning from a day's job cutting trees, one of them, Travis Walton, disappears afters encountering what they claim is an UFO. The film works as a drama by detailing the events that transpired after they reported his missing friend to the local authorities. The latter part of the film, which to most is the part that really makes the it really worthwhile, is the one I always had problems with due to the studio's decision to change most of the recorded account to turn it into a 'spooky' story, which honestly wasn't needed nor it works that much, at least for me. James Garner is in his typical acting mode here, but the real actor that commands the film is Robert Patrick. The film was released in 1993 with mixed reviews and did mild business at the box office. But it is the only film it has been made about the most widely publicized alien abduction case and it will surely spark some debate after watching it with your friends or relatives about how truthful the whole story is. 8/10
