This is ridiculous. We arent managers. We are fans. Who gives a fuck who gets what. If this fight doesnt get made over a couple of million dollars, i will blame the fighter who was too greedy. This fight should be for Legacy not for dollars.

But we're human beings, aren't we?
We want things to be honest, and fair, don't we?
If fighter A consistently attracts more views (twice as much, in fact), fighting the same opposition as fighter B, shouldn't fighter A get more money?
Wouldn't you be the first one to call it a sham and a travesty, if fighter A was forced to take the same amount of money, as fighter B?

the discussion might have some merit if it weren't simply a preemptive apology for PBF's refusing the fight over money.

Fine, Make the purse 50/50. The straight up amount paid to each fighter for the fight. And make the PPV #s 60/40 for Mayweather. That should make everyone happy and we can actually talk about who would win, not what money they should get. This is the most ridiculous argument i have ever seen on this site.

How is it PBF refusing the fight over money? :notallthere:

PBF will ask for a fair percentage of the purse.
Pac-Man will refuse to take a fair percentage.
    Who's fault will it be?
The guy who wants a fair deal or the guy who refuses to take a fair deal?

I hate for Floyd to get more because he is predestined to end up a poor, broken marbleless fool just like his father. He was already on his way to the poorhouse before having to fight again & borrow money from DLH.

The extra money made will be spent on a bulletproof casing around his (big big boy) mansion to protect himself and fitty, and whatever other kids they kidnapped recently. The new neverland ranch, but with fields of gold buck teeth.

Dude, all I'm saying is that there's more that goes into negotiating a multi million dollar pay per view than shouting about common opponents.

    That's exactly what I'm thinking.

Justifying why this fight shouldn't happen is insane. :notallthere:

it doesn't matter whether Floyd spends his money on helping starving kids or throwing it away on stupid shit. It's his hard-earned money, he has a right to spend it in any way he wants.
It is our obligation as fans, though, to make sure he gets a fair deal in this fight.

Yea, but a dollar goes fuck all far in the PI. In fact, I would disagree b/c we never hear of any financial problems for Pac. He shared a 2 bedroom with 10 other people? May is worse than Holyfield in his need for the biggest and best.

Oh, and apparently phillipinos don't need shoes or other basic necessities.

He spent nearly a million dollars only on fight tickets for friends!

He gambles a whole lot too. It's not just Floyd that lays down bets.

It would be bad to hear that Manny is wasting his money, but it would not be surprising.

You must not come to this site much. Just down a few topics is arguing that they would prefer Floyd-Pac not to even happen at all. And that's just today! Who knows what tomorrow will bring!

Let's face it, guys. A very large majority of our heroes don't do to well with money.

True, but some fighters take risks in an attempt to reap the benifits, others try to swindle the public into buying crap.

    Pacquaio-Cotto: 2 million buys?

Rey Colón of the ´El Vocero´ of Puerto Rico reported that the welterweight mega-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto generated approximately 2 million pay-per-view buys generating at least $120 million. No word on what Pacquiao´s cut will be but Cotto was mentioned to be making at least $10 million minimum.
