You don't get to the age of 38 in pro boxing, and not be past your best, unless you have a hiatus in between. Mosley has not had an extended period of retirement, like Vitali, or Sugar Ray Leonard, or Foreman. He has been active in divsions many leagues north of his prime, and for longer than Floyd. Plus he is Old. Come on.

If you thought he looked the same in both of those fights, then you're just as guilty as those trying to play Monday Morning QB with this fight.

The Mayorga fight was precisely why I gave Shane little to no chance of beating Margarito, regardless of the styles matchup. Shane looked like shit until pulling out the last-second KO.

I knew what to expect going into this fight - that Shane is past his prime, and that Floyd would be way too much for him. The Margarito fight was Shane's last hurrah. People refused to believe it because they're so wrapped up in hating Floyd, but it's the truth.

But where I refuse to make excuses is that Floyd exceeded my expectations on Saturday. He could've settled for a boxing-first decision win, but instead put on a clinic from the third round on - and even to his credit fought back after twice being buzzed in the second. He held just long enough to regain his composure, and was landing clean, meaningful shots by rounds end.

As hard as anyone wants to try, you just can't take that away from Floyd.

Mosley looked tired and worn after the 3rd round.

the Mayorga fight is when i declared Shane a shot fighter

Mayorga was skillless fighter at the end of his career, fighting the likes of a shot Vargas, and Shane struggled bigtime

Yeah that was the first time I said it as well.

Even still like I said whether you believe that was the case or not it doesn't matter. It was 15 months between Shane's last fight and their is no reason he couldn't have gotten shot somewhere between that time frame. So really what's the point of the question?

All I know is that PBF did what you are supposed to do against a guy that is not on his level and he did it in spectacular fashion. Now I know that Shane has slipped but no one expected PBF to dominate in the manner which he did. No one expected PBF to walk Shane down nor stand in the pocket. No one ever in their wildest minds would have thought that PBF was gonna be the stronger man in the ring. Perhaps this has to do with Mosleys age. Perhaps it has to do wit the fact that Mosley wasn't able to take his undetectable PED's. But much props has to be given to PBF. All I know is that on Saturday PBF got 2 victories. One against Sshane and the other against Pac. I'll Holla 5000

Exactly. Anyone who doesn't give Floyd proper credit for this win is a fool. But anyone who thinks 'proper' credit means building this win into something bigger than it is a fool too.

It's a good solid win. Well done Floyd. Now hopefully onto bigger more meaningful things.

Now I hear how Mayorga forgot how to fight... hmmmmm

notice that I did not say that he forgot how to box, but how to fight. He fought well enough to beat Vernon Forrest twice, who beat Shane twice, but he lost all of his brawling and fighting acumen because someone wants to make their point of how shot Mosely was on Saturday.

I do think that Mosley looked shot,. I don't think he is, but, I believe it had a lot to do with what Floyd was doing to him. Floyd moving and countering is part of the equation of not standing there like Margarito as if he were a human heavy bag.

I'm a boxing fan and I like most fighters, but the hate that's here for Floyd just distorts any possiblity for objectivity with most of the guys on this board who just don't like him.

    Precisely.

Anyone can look good hitting a heavy bag, it doesn't drain you as much as when you're missing and being countered.

i dont think Shane is really "shot"

but he looked strange... i'd never seen him look so weakend and spent

i really think it's lack of "supplements"

lets see how pac looks without his "supplements"

    Wasn't Margarito favored against Mosely?

    Wasn't Pavlik favored against Martinez?

I expected a Margarito white wash.

    I expected a Pavlik decision.

Liston was favored by 8-1 against Clay/Ali

Tyson was favored 42-1 against Douglas.

    But I see your point:shit:
