Looks like yet more grading of opposition on a curve. And now it seems Baldomir = LaMotta.

Sly has made the comparison before, and when called out on it said something to the effect of "They are similar fighters, LaMotta is just a bit better"

I don't recall saying that specifically (You lie) but it's the same stylistic problem for Lamotta.

As i said before..Toney is much better than Telesco...same stylistic problem when facing Jones. Same with Liston vs Cooper against Ali, Ruddock vs Grant against Lewis. Duran and Cuevas vs Hearns Etc.

Just because Lamotta is better overall than Baldomir and would beat him head to head...doesn't dictate that Floyd has a harde rtime with him.

Floyd beat Hatton easier than he beat Castillo...Hatton raped Castillo.

Dude...you wont admit it here...but you KNOW Floyd beats Lamotta. Anyone with an ounce of boxing sense looks at the both of them, sees how they fight, understands their skills...and KNOWS Floyd would outbox that relative animalistic primitive club fighter

Honestly, man, it's quite the opposite

I absolutely KNOW that Mayweather would not be able to beat Lamotta

And, again, I can only reference how little you appear to know about Jake Lamotta.... LOL at clubfighter...

"Clubfighter" was just bait. Obviously Lamotta was a decent champion. But he'd not beat Floyd at all. He'd hardly be able to touch him in fact.

I think the same of your position, quite frankly.

    We'll never know though.

I do think it's ridiculous when knowing with jake brought to the table and compare that with Floyd's style.

I mean...shit...we don't even have to talk about the details of it...just look at these two videos I'm about to post.

LOL a video of a weight-drained Jake Lamotta in there with probably the greatest all around fighter ever in the only fight they had that wasn't controversial compared with a video of Floyd Mayweather in there with the most overrated fighter of the last 20 years (and in OLD MAN FORM, no less!!!) ... hilarious

I don't need comforting. I'm already quite confident that you have no idea what you are talking about

The opponents are almost irrelevant (any Floyd opponent that I post would receive equal criticism, let's be real here). The styles and abilities on show is what's relevant.

The best part is that the early part of the LaMotta/Robinson video, before LaMotta was finally exhausted, shows how competetive it was!!! Hell the first couple of minutes are a glowing recommendation of LaMotta as a difficult man to deal with!

I was just gonna post pretty much the same thing.

Typical spin-doctoring and avoidance of context from Stafford.

It's sometimes amazing how dumb he thinks the members of this forum are if he thinks that they would be fooled by this bullshit.

But it's filmed in black and white and therefore he MUST be primitive...because all fighters from that time, except for Ray Robinson, were cavemen.

ANy floyd opponent above 135 would RIGHTLY be criticized if it were offered up as evidence of what Mayweather would do to LaMotta!! How are you unable to comprehend this?

    here, dig this:

    and then

so clearly, Curry kills Hearns, right?

seriously, if you filmed Floyd (or anybody from right now) on faded black and white film, from a press box vantagepoint with NO angles, the only things that would give it away as a modern fight are the ring attire and the advertisements printed on the canvas and the corner posts

This is not 1910 where the guys are wrestling, clinching and throwing one punch every 30 seconds

The funniest part is that Floyd style is so definitively OLD SCHOOL

His moves are similar to the moves of guys from the 40s, 50s and 60s like Georgie Benton, Harold Johnson, Joe "Old Bones" Brown, Archie Moore, Freddie Little with a little bit of Sugar Ray himself thrown in there (Floyd liked a leaping counter hook in his early days)

What other modern fighters fight like Floyd? The real primitives are the new crop of fencing leap amateurs who have no fucking idea how to fight offensively without throwing haymakers or fight defensively without jumping three feet in the air
