Upon replay, Floyd's behavior was both awesome and badass.

because if he is being "sporting" than the whole "revenge" angle goes right out the window... you can't have it both ways

'sporting' isn't half a hug to lull a guy into shipping an undefended shot.

Ortiz deserved it but there was nothing sporting in what Floyd did

Yes, it has to be a wooden casket and has to be lowered 3 feet instead of the usual 6 so that costs won't overrun.:scratcher:

I don't believe it was for revenge though. I think it was a matter of why be EXTRA accomodating to a man that fouled you..as opposed to revenge. Ref had waved the fight in....if the man doesn't want to fight you knock him out.

WHY BE EXTRA ACCOMADATING AND GIVE THE GUY TWO FUCKING HUGS BEFORE SMASHING HIM IN THE FACE WHEN HE'S LOOKING AT THE REF????

JUST HIT THE FUCKING GUY INSTEAD OF ALLOWING HIM TO MAKE SEXUAL ADVANCES ON YOU:pissed:

Then fight, instead of feigning a hug to gain a cheap advantage

I didn't see Mayweather "feigning a hug". Ortiz was apologizing YET AGAIN and Floyd was kinda jestering like "yeah whatever what's done is done" and was moving in for he kill.

Reminded me of Herbie Hide vs Riddick Bowe. Hide did something dirty (can't remember what it was)..was warned for it and wanted to keep apologizing to Bowe. Bowe just kept moving in and Hide protected himself by getting on his bicycle and keeping his hands up.

That's what Ortiz should have done. If he wants to keep his hands down and look away..Floyd had every right to knock him out.

Ah fuck it, either way Ortiz deserved it. And Joe Cortez should retire, promptly.

Muhammad Ali to attend Joe Frazier's funeral

    From NBC Washington
Muhammad Ali is heading to Philadelphia for the funeral of Joe Frazier.
A spokesperson, handling funeral details for the Frazier family, tells NBC10 that Ali will arrive in Philadelphia on Sunday, and will attend Monday's services.
Frazier was the first man to beat Muhammad Ali, knocking him down and taking a decision in the so-called Fight of the Century in 1971. He would go on to lose two more fights to Ali.

Smokin' Joe's body will be lying in state at the Wells Fargo Center Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"This will be an opportunity for his many fans, supporters and boxing lovers from around the world to pay their final respects to Joe Frazier," his family said in a release.
Frazier's funeral will be a closed casket ceremony Monday at the Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church on Cheltenham Avenue. Guests can pay tribute to Frazier from 9 to 11 a.m. and the service will begin at 11, family said.

gratifying to hear that the filipinos cheered frazier and booed ali at the start of the thrilla in manila: apparently they didn't like the guy who'd been shoved down their throats by the media all during the run-up to the fight, preferred the underdog.
