Floyd single-handedly ruins boxing.....

If you don't think that Floyd was running, you are delusional.:nono:

xPLOSIVE is not smart. Not only did Floyd run, he held shamelessly and he ducked and grabbed DLH's legs, presumably to give him head. Floyd won the fight though. Oscar looked like a skilless zombie. I have seen more spunk from a Night of the Living Dead Marathon.

That's when Floyd got his nose busted, he bravely waited until the last 15 seconds of the fight to actually fight and look what happened

Wait and see, you will start to see more and more fighters adapt the punch and run technique because it can win a fight. That equals a stinkout.

Your expectations must have been even lower than mine to think this was a good fight :dunno:

What fight were you watching? If anything, Oscar initiated more clinches than Floyd did.

I know who Ike is, but I didn't think he'd have to rely to flat-out lying about what happened. One has to wonder if he doesn't do this more often.

Seriously. Although Roger told Floyd to tie Oscar up on the ropes, Floyd rarely did. In fact, if you pay attention to Oscar's flurry offense often consisted of holding with the right arm and throwing the left, a-la John Ruiz.

Fucken precisely, there's something not right about that 'turning his back' to defend himself, that seems illegal to me, I wonder what he'll do when someone nails him hard in the back where his body is supposed to be?..fall down crying claiming foul. Then ofcourse he elbows, palms, forearms etc,..to set his straight right up inbetween raw explosive sprinting that borderlines disqualification level. He fucking stinks,...and ex-Jones fans are content to love and admire this supreme eye-searer?...how the fuck do you go from something as spectacular as Roy, ...to this?...and retain this much hype and love?....... :notallthere: "Aww aww coz dey similar dey is"...yeah.....I know how they're similar  .

I hope someone straightens out his intestins with a punch the next time he does that bullshit

The accolades he gets has me completely confused. Roy never had his hand super glued to his face at the slightest hint of a flinch nor contort to turn his back to his opponent so the opponent can't punch. Roy relied on offense and counterpunching, not defense to discourage the fighter. Yeah they are similar :dunno:

The black and white elitist snobs who claim how great fighters were, actually stick up for fraud, I just don't get it :notallthere:

Would you guys really expect Floyd to be unbeaten at this stage of his career if he had the style of arturo Gatti?? Fuck, he's a boxer, with not much power who relies on his reflexes and quickness to WIN A FIGHT

WIN A FIGHT is the purpose of the sport, isn't it??? :dunno:

Fine and dandy, but let's be real.....take the accolades associated with him away forever. He is not a fighter, he is a defensive boring chicken that will not engage. This is what his accolade should be :cheer:

    No, that's just speculating.

What it only really proved is this: Floyd Mayweather is a better fighter than Oscar de la Hoya.

This will be the last big PPV. I think boxing is finally done for after people wasted their money on that B.S. I'm glad I didn't buy it.

Now now, you're hurting Floyd's FEELINGS. He said in the press conference it's because of people like you he is retiring from the sport.

He put on a mastery of boxing. A virtuoso performance. Look at the punch stats and he blocked everything Oscar threw.

Aren't you going to miss him a little bit? :crafty:

He won but it was no virtuoso performance. He never at any time stamped his authority on the fight and appeared to do just enough to win IMO.

Still a win but not endearing to the masses. Right or wrong it because of this that Floyd will remain underappreciated.

It wasn't a great performance by Floyd by any means. I watched in a room full of Mayweather fans and they were less than thrilled though the felt Floyd clearly won (as did I).

The biggest difference between Floyd and the Fab Four of the 80's is that those guys went for the kill.

A prime Leonard would have gone for the KO vs Oscar. He wouldn't have potshotted his way to victory.

Fans expect a fighter to leave it all in the ring, if nothing else. Even if you're dominating, you should attempt to stop the opponent rather than play it safe. That's why fighters like Mayweather, Lewis, Winky Wright, Bernard Hopkins are/were not appreciated and couldn't really get over with the masses. And on the other hand, fighters who give it their all in both winning and losing like young Tyson and Holyfield are amongst the most popular fighters in history. It all makes sense.

I dont know about that Hanz, there happens to be a certain welterweight champion, who's an always exciting all-action fighter who'll march forwards trying to KILL YOU every second of every round, and he'll fight anybody, anywhere,...
his name is ofcourse Antonio Margarito, yet still :dunno: he happens to be one of the most HATED, HATED, HATED fighters on this messageboard (excluding white europeans ofcourse),..:dunno: ...........so, who knows what people really respect in general?..

True, which is a majority around here unfortunately,..personally,.. I think they are the ones who have no problems destroying the sport aslong as baby gets his bottle, they put a single boxer above boxing, this is where all this sickening 'worthyness' talk was derrived from, it suits Fraud's mentallity and agenda, he feels he's above the sport, and so do his idiot fans who endorse and passionately defend his actions (and even WORDS), inevitabely it reflects on his well-paid mis-matchmaking.

Remember how defensive the Tyson fanatics were during Tyson/Tua discussions? If anybody even gave Tua the slightest chance of knocking Tyson's ass out, they'd come at you in droves not only insulting you for thinking something they deemed so ridiculous but they'd also trash Tua. Tua was REALLY unpopular amongst the Tyson lovers. They'd get so defensive.

Floyd should retire. He'a very skilled boxer. Boxers can appreciate his skills, and so can hardcore fans. But his style isn't entertaining to the "average fan". Hanzy is right, fans want to see a guy give it all he has and leave it all in the ring. Floyd won't ever do that, it just isn't the way he fights.

Leave it all on the ring: "To brawl. To fight stupid and make mistakes possibly even get hurt by a punch something he didn't see walking foward with his hands low".

Leave it all in the ring: "To make an effort. To fight as if you actually give a sh*t and giving fans a reason to pay to see you again."

 Mike Tyson, Tommy Hearns, Leonard all entertained. I guess they fought stupid?:dunno:
