I don't think I had Floyd winning the 8th. I'm fairly certain I had it for Castillo because I remember having two 9-9 rounds.

At the time, I argued with cats who gave Castillo the 10th round, which would have made it a 10-8 round for Castillo. That was the basis for their argument that Castillo won.

I disagreed with that just like I disagreed with Floyd getting a 10-8 round for the 8th.

Watch the 8th again, I'm sure you'll agree with me. We tended to want to give Castillo rounds simply because Floyd wasn't as impressive as we had expected (everyone had high hopes after his destruction of Corrales)...but he clearly won the 8th round AND the fight.

There was nothing "clear" about Floyd winning that fight.

A clear win was the Corrales fight or Juuko fight.

The first Castillo fight isn't anywhere near that realm.

A fight can be close but clear. This fight was such a fight. Many rounds were competitive, but Floyd most certainly won 7 rounds.

Well ... I'm not worried about losing my mod "powers" and seriously Jaws ... you ARE crossing the line.

And since Sly most likely doesn't want to look like he's trying to win a fight by using those powers , If you cross the line again here in GENERAL DISCUSSION ... I have no problem giving you a little vacation to think about being more civil and serious in THIS section of the forum.

Seriously Jaws ... take it down a notch for the sake of being a decent and credible member of the boxing discussion forum.

I agree with Petre. I think HorseStaff and Jaws are both cool, but this smacktalk is not cool in the boxing forums.

Of course a fight can be close but clear.

MAB-Morales III was close but clear.

Morales - Pac I was close but clear

    Mayweather-Castillo I isn't one of those fights.

Why do you think he's calling for a Hatton fight?

Yeah but Double L, you predict EVERYONE to beat Floyd. You picked Baldomir, De La Hoya...and probably Zab Judah. YET...Floyd keeps winning. I know it saddens you but my advice is:

    Don't HATE, APPRECIATE!

I've always thought Williams would've been one of the worst (if not THE worst) stylistic matchup out there for Floyd in the 140-154 range, much worse than DeLaHoya (or Margarito, for that matter). The one question mark Williams had (and maybe still has) is how he'll hold up when a big puncher slams a few big ones through his whirlwind flurries... but he wouldn't have to worry too much about that from Floyd IMO. And besides, his chin/heart held up pretty damn good against Margarito, for whatever that's worth.

Williams looks to me like a good fighter and someone who'll be very difficult for a lot of guys to beat.

Zab Judah matches up well with paul Williams. He may very well just Cory Spinks Williams!

    Discuss

I think Cintron is as bad of a matchup for Floyd as Williams.

Cintron is a bitch and has teh mentality of Golota. If you can't hurt him, you don't give him a reason to quit.

I doubt Cintron would come unravelled if Floyd's not hurting him.

Think about this for a second guys. Oscar had tons of success throwing a limited number of jabs. The jab was working great, but he just couldn't keep it up. Imagine 6' 2" southpaw williams throwing constant jabs and never tiring. I really think this creates tons of problems for Floyd. I really cannot imagine him beating this giant. Williams is great at using his length and keeping proper distance and the guy has insane stamina. Apart from Mosley, Williams is the toughest fight at 147 for Floyd.

There's no point in talking about a fight with Williams...Floyd would never fight the guy.

    "Who's Williams beat?"

You know Floyd isn't going near the guy.

    Who's Paul Williams?...he's unproven,...he's not "worthy".

Thank fuck Alfonzo Gomez stepped it up and finally "proved" himself, the way the great Carlos Baldomir did.

Welcome to the prime time Alfonzo. Gatti's the truth.

I can see the interview now...

    Reporter:

Floyd, will you fight the new WBO champion Paul Williams?

    Floyd:

"Who is Paul Williams and who has he beat?"

    Reporter:

"Williams just beat the longtime former champion Antonio Margarito."

    Floyd:

    "Who is Antonio Margarito?"

You are the last person I would think would be the idiot to resurrect Judah for his latest foray off the scrap heap. All kidding aside you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Lets buy the brooklyn bridge while we buy another Zab Judah possable success story and make the picture complete.
