AgREED 100% As an AMATEUR, you can easily claim that Harrison was greater than Khan. The colour of their respective Olympic medals is sufficient testimony to that. However, as a PROFESSIONAL, Khan has rebounded from a crushing defeat by beating a legitimate world champion in Kotelnik, who continues to be criminally underrated here, and is next up against another top-ten 140lb-er in Paulie. Harrison, on the other hand, has decnded into little more than parody as a pro, telling anyone within a million miles that he is the next world champion before being humiliated by garbage like Guinn and knocked unconcious by average plodders like Michael Sprott. The ONLY possible chance he has of even sniffing a world title fight is if David Haye, the weakest of the present HW titlists, takes pity on him and gives him an utterly undeserved title shot, which contrary to some of the hilarious posts in this thread, would end whenever Haye decided to throw a meaningful straight right hand. Harrison took a golden opportunity and pissed it away, because despite having some tools, he has the fighting heart of a mouse. He is one of the few professional fighters who seems entirely unwilling to actually FIGHT, terrified as he is of getting punched. I will sig bet for SIX months with anyone who thinks Fraudley would last the distance against Haye, if Haye is stupid enough to grant that useless, three-chains-away-from-a-heavy-bag lump of garbage a shot at his bauble. MTF
at anyone even comparing harrison to fraudley; Harrison is domestic British level, even if he managed to luck his way to the interim/vacant euro title...Sosnowski would have beaten the dogshit out of him and he is just barely decent...Fraudley lost to Martin Rogan for fuck's sake
salaco and MTF - you know I am a proper Khan hater, but suggesting Fraudley is better than him is absurd. He was KO'd in 1, and he is a basic fighter with fast hands - but he is still significantly better than a domestic level fighter, which yes - is exactly what Fraudley is.
Nah, he just won the European championship so IMHO that must make him an European level fighter even though in heavyweight that is not much more than British domestic level. Khan is world class
By the way I watched all of Fraudley's olympic fights as they happened, and even then I remember thinking he was the best of a bad bunch, and wouldn't do much as a pro. I thought Khan looked much better as an amateur actually.
Even if you don't care about belts, there are not 20 better fighters that Harrison fighting in Europe at the moment. Sprott is European level too, he has given a good fight to many top ranked Europeans
Haye wants nothing to do with ANY fighter who has the REMOTEST chance of beating him before he gets into a shootout with either Klitschko.
Alot of people may cry "how dare you" ,.. but I reckon Haye would not survive 12 rounds with Arreola, when he destroys Adamek, I hope Haye's camp 'cherry picks' him as a voluntary paper-belt defence.
I hope you are not suggesting that fighting Harrison would be a bigger risk than fighting Valuev or Ruiz
The Valuev being a risk because 'he's so big he'd have to hit hard!' is a UK tabloid myth in defense of Haye's pathetic, pathetic, pathetic performance.
Ahhh....now there is an answer. Harrison, would you believe it, has very few miles on the clock despite being the same age as Ruiz. How many lefties has Haye blasted his way past?
And Haye has lost to Thompson. Harrison's losses have been as much to do with his head as his talents. Bottom line is, and I should be getting more credit for this, the guy has blasted his way back into contention. It's the heavyweight division...any man who can 1-punch his way into contention needs reckoning with.
Blasts his way back into contention with a KO over someone who is 2-4 in his last 6 fights? Fucking come on :: Did Holyfield also blast his way back into contention with the KO over Botha?
He is the European Champ, which gives him a top 10 rating with the WBC. Now, you can take that up with Sulaiman if you want.
And Harrison deserved a shot at the European title without ever winning the British or Commonwealth title? And losing to Rogan? Winning some little toughman contest should never be enough to get you a European title shot. Khan would never get outpointed by someone as raw and unskilled as Rogan, for an ex-Olympic champion to get outboxed by someone like that is pathetic.
