    defenses dont make him great. His opposition in those defenses were shit. Also, his record as a heavyweight itself is shit.

    Not true. But in any case, his record against terrible opposition is horrendous. eitherway, calling him one of the best champions would mean you have to call him one of the best heavyweights. And that aint the case. Not by a long shot.

    This makes no sense. He claimed the title twice and no one has defended it more than him. That makes him one of the best UFC Hw's ever.

    What you use to define best is simply ridiculous. He never fought the best fighters and won. He was champion out convenience and he was busted for steriods while holding the strap.

    So what? He didnt beat Arlovski who was the champ at the time and the best HW in the UFC?And what about a prime Ricco.

    Arlovski never beat the real champ to get that belt in the first place. Mir was injured. Arlovski would have been Mir's bitch. Also, One of Sylvia's defenses was while he was on steriods. It's a tainted victory and his title was taken. If this was today, that would have been a NC. Arlovski wasnt the best anything. Him losing a decision to Sylvia proved that. And his career from then on crystalized it.

    Obviously not since he was beat by Sylvia. And Mir lost to Vera 3 fights after being back from his accident. two fights after being knocked out in his first fight back.

    Mir was shit but he made Sylvia his bitch before the accident right?
