Respect to LSC, he says he will do it in Belfast and LA.

If it happens in LA, LSC might get the decision this time, RUBBER MATCH!!

Frampton needs to improve but, albeit vs a slowish guy, he showed good moves and didn't get hit by every punch thrown,so he can get some defences in.

He's the most proven titlist in the British Isles right now, IMHO.

Frampton should fight Gary Russell Jr next.

There were 9000+ at the center in NY last night, Frampton won, narrowly, a very good fight that is getting good reviews.

He needs to build on this now, unlike McGuigan, who blew it by fighting way outside his comfort zone in Nevada in the middle of Summer.

Pulling the strings, was he :dunno:

He needed to step on the pedal sooner. I think he faded towards the end.

Good little fighter, Frampton. Nice technique, smooth boxer. As Irish said, he probably has the best resume of any British "world champion" currently.

Saying all that though, Loma takes him to school.

I like Mikey a lot, but I've seen Magdaleno a lot and he certainly has a pulse.

diego is the least talented of the two magdelanos, by a considerable margin.

Carl Frampton is very likeable but he would refer to himself as British and I have no problem with this, wouldn't regard him as an Irish fighter any more than Kyle Lafferty is an Irish footballer or Rory Mcilroy an Irish golfer, let's be honest

Well it depends on whether we are talking "proven" elite or "potential" elite, and also how we are defining that word.

Well yes, but that is just a description of Frampton's achievements (which I agree are impressive), it doesn't define what makes somebody an elite boxer. For example I'd say Joshua and Fury are easily 'elite' heavyweights, if we are just talking this particular era, because they are both clearly in the top four in the world in that division.

Frampton going to NYC and beating LSC was a bigger ask, if, for no other reason, Frampton lacks Furys physical gifts and LSC isn't 40 years of age.

Sure, but being amongst the top four in your division (bearing in mind you're in a unique division where you can't move up or down to seek other challenges) would surely make you elite, no?

I think I'd go with Santa Cruz in a rematch so long as it isn't immediate. Frampton fought his balls off, but I didn't think Santa Cruz was quite as sharp as he can be and I don't think it was all Frampton. Even if it was all Frampton, I don't think it's a given he can be as sharp in the next fight.

Santa Cruz is Mexican, not American.

McIlroy is a middle class protestant from the Down countryside, he is from a post-troubles unionist generation who identify primarily as Northern Irish, but its mostly definitely British thereafter...I wouldn't hold that against him btw

I'm pretty sure he's irish catlick but as you alluded to there probably wasn't a lot of nationalist ferment on the county down golf clubs he spent his youth in

OK. Frampton has lower body fat and visible, rippling muscles.
