How can Katsidis take all those body punches?
How Marquez is absorbing all those bombs to the head? great fight!

Katsidis ALMOST ended it for Marquez in round 3.

Yeah that was then. Marquez is winning this now.

  5. Panchyprsss

    Panchyprsss Clogg's LORD PROTECTOR

Well in fact that was the only round Katsidis won.

WTF? Bailey stopped that fight way too early!!!

Katsidis was hurt. True. But he was still throwing punches and trying to recoup his legs. That stoppage was premature IMO.

    Juan Manyell is the man?

Katsidis thinks there was more than one knockdown in the fight.

Are you serious. Katsidis was mentally done at that point. For good reason his eyes were closed and Marquez was hitting him with power shot after power shot.

The stoppage was ONLY premature in that it robbed JMM of the brutal KO that was surely soon coming. If it was a loud mouth punk like Brandon Rios, then seeing the brutal KO would be nice. But I'm glad we didnt see poor Micheal turned into a highlight reel.

The early stoppage of the night was Hernandez's.

Freddy was going nowhere but the canvas again... very shortly after.

Possibly but he should have been able to continue.

Bullshit. That one was rightly stopped. Freddy was stumbling to the corner.

Hardly, he threw like 4 to Marquez' 30 in that last segment

He took 9 total punches and had clearly recovered when he got up. Katsidis took hundreds of punches and your happy for him to continue. Don't understand your logic at all.

You wont see Bika again anytime soon.

Why not? From what I read on here earlier it was close early. How'd the second half of the fight go?

I doesnt matter how close it was. Bika is an ugly fight. High Risk, low reward fighting this guy.

Calzaghe, Bute, Ward and Beyer. Lots of fighters would kill for that many opportunities.

What a beautiful performance by Marquez. Absolutely sublime. i keep expecting this guy to slow down - but at lightweight there's no sign of it. Can anyone else think of a 37 year old lower weights fighter who was as good as Marquez is now?

Perhaps not as good at that age, but Azumah Nelson comes to mind.
