I don't think it is. One thing I'll give Sky Sports credit for (pass me the sick bag) is that they do know how to hype a sports event and entice the casual fan. Helps that they have a monopoly on most televised sport these days too.

Do you think Groves-DeGale II would be marketable Slice, or is chunky out the game?

Of course it's marketable. Though to be fair The Chunkster isn't doing himself any favours fighting for Hennessy on Channel 5. He's earned himself a decent ranking though, he beats Bika and he's right back in the mix. If Groves beats Froch (which I'm actually expecting him to do), then that's a big money unification rematch.

Chunky's last fight was embarrassing. He fought a stubborn bastard who was shit and who's name and nationality I cannot remember. Chunky needs a step up NEXT and a big step up. I've practically lost faith in him. To be honest, I have done for a while. Not entitely his fault of course.

    Groves wants non-UK officials

LONDON - George Groves is demanding non-British officials for his world title re-match with Carl Froch at London's Wembley Stadium on May 31.

The two Britons collide for Froch's World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-middleweight titles after their first encounter in November ended controversially.

Groves, 25, felt referee Howard Foster stopped the fight prematurely in the ninth round after he had floored Froch, 36, in the opening round. That led Groves to appeal to the IBF to sanction a re-match, which it did, and now the Londoner does not want the domestic British Boxing Board of Control to appoint the referee.

"The British Boxing Board of Control failed me in the first fight," Groves told a Wembley news conference held jointly with Froch yesterday.

"Froch was gifted the decision by Howard Foster. We wanted neutral officials. He awarded it in Carl Froch's favour and it cost me the fight."

Promoter Eddie Hearn agreed with Groves that a non-British referee should be the man in the middle.

In the current wake of popularity of boxing, it's a massive fight though.
This is exactly what the boxing needs, 1-2x a year...doesn't matter where the fighters come form or what division they're in...as long as it gets the general public talking about boxing again.

Would you rather watch Andre Ward or Tim Bradley or Floyd Mayweather Jr safely shut someone out and walk away with a nice paycheck while everyone sits around going "what was that all about?" :scratcher:

Much as I'd like see the balding ginger win the rematch, I think ole Froch will stop him again, this time via legit stoppage.

Hopefully after that, they make Froch vs Kov, so we can see the farmer sent into retirement.
