Tough fight but I think ultimately Froch picks up enough rounds to win a close but deserved decision.
This is one of two possible results result but I think it is slightly more likely that Eubanks makes Froch look oafish and catches him with a big shot he doesn't see and sparks him. Eubanks threw really sneaky and very hard shots - exactly the kind of punches which put Froch on his arse. I definitely think that Froch wins 3 out of ten times, though. At least. MTF
I know you don't rate Eubanks at all but I really don't see how you can say that Froch would certainly 'outwill' him. In the Benn fight, he walked through some absolute bombs to hunt Benn down and stop him. One uppercut in the early rounds of that fight caused Eubanks to near bite his own tongue in two. In the second Watson fight he was battered from pillar to post for ten rounds. In the 11th, he came out and give every last bit he had to try and force a stoppage, then, when he was knocked down and on the verge of a KO defeat, he somehow got up and near killed Watson with a single punch. Even after this tragedy, he went to war with Steve Collins - a limited but extremely tough and proud warrior - and then in his absolute old age he moved up to 200 and fought a pair of epic wars with Carl Thompson, who in the second fight finally stopped Eubanks for the first time in his career. Some of your criticisms of Eubanks are fair, but I really don't see how Froch 'outwills' Eubanks 'for sure'. Eubanks had the heart of a lion and proved it multiple times. MTF
I wouldn't say that i dont rate eubanks at all. I think he was a good solid fighter, but he also had a lot of flaws, that are way too often swept under the rugs. Outwilling might not been the best word. I should have left it at outworks him. Eubank would land his shares of hard shots, but i think his inactivity would be his downfall in that fight. Froch is a guy that makes you fight every seconds of a match, while Eubank liked to slow the rythm down and fight at his own pace. And i dont think he would be able to discourage froch
Okay, that's fair. As I said to Slice, I can definitely see this fight play out in the way you describe. The difference between us is that I think that, more often than not, Eubanks is rounds behind but hits Carl with a bomb he doesn't see, and stops him. MTF
