On a feat only a few films have ever accomplished the Disney animated film 'Frozen' retook the #1 spot at the box office on its sixth week with $20.7 million. It beat the debut of 'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones' ($18.2 million) and three weeks champ 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' ($16.2 million). Only two films have grossed more money on their sixth weekend: 'Avatar' & 'Titanic'. 'Frozen' is also the first film since 'Avatar' in 2010 to accomplish this feat. Worldwide the Disney family film passed the $600 million mark and seems headed for a bigger bounty in the following weeks. The latest entry in the Paranormal Activity franchise had the lowest debut numbers for any film of the same title brand. The declining numbers for each succeeding film signals audience fatigue with this particular product. On the other hand "Smaug" will most likely end up finishing with less box office gold than any of the Tolkien films before it. It is estimated that its final tally will be between $260 -$270 million domestically, way below the prior films over $300 million domestically. Worldwide 'Smaug" has grossed so far $756 million, but it is doubtful it will reach the $1 billion mark of last year's 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey'. Many credit the declining numbers to a significant portion of the audience's dissatisfaction with the first film in comparison with the prior LOTR trilogy. So many people opted to pass this one. "The Wolf Of Wall Street' grabbed $13.4 million on its second week for a total of $63 million and it is on its way to a $100 million finish. 'American Hustle' took home $13.2 million and has grossed so far $83 million. Finally 'Anchorman 2' added $11.1 million to its bank account for a total of $109 million so far. It already surpassed the first film's final numbers.
