Yeah, Golovkin is a tough outing for anyone, and tbh I don't think Hagler or Monzon would come close to stopping him.

Tszyu got stopped, not just beaten, stopped - by Cool Vince and Hatton [IMG]

Can you imagine Gennady not just losing to fighters the calibre of Cool Vince and Hatton, but getting stopped by them [IMG] [IMG]

As I said, two completely different levels of fighter, Tzyu was nowhere near Gennady's league. Tszyu would get battered senseless by pretty much any ATG in boxing history.

Canelo would have tremendous difficulty with Danny's range.

Controlling distance and disrupting rhythm are things you try to achieve to the end of laying hurt on in my book. That's the only thing to score on imo. On average power shots are harder

I would love to see Canelo vs either Jacobs or Lemieux.

Yeah that's fair, but that's exactly what Golovkin does - guide you to the ropes with the jab, then beat you up with well a variety of powershots.

And you also said Canelo was going to the hospital last Saturday. And that the Bears would be "competitive" last season. Both, off by a mile.

Generally yeah but i thought he struggled to land power shots in this one, particularly clean ones

boxing is such a joke. this lady gives a scorecard that almost the entire boxing community disagrees with and she doesn't even have to stand in front of a camera and explain it?

it's a good thing casual fans didnt watch this fight...in addition to the decision, both fighters proved to be scrubs
the mexican ran and danced...the powerful destroyer didnt do anything to take out a guy clearly gassed and not carrying the additional weight well

Golovkin never faced the calibre though? the highlight of his career is a draw against Canelo - that's shocking

the potential to surpass the mexican killer is there...but for now the critics remain correct

He matched Canelo in power shots, provided the more consistent work, was the aggressor 95% if the fight, was the one controlling the pace and style of the fight. That's a clear win in my book, not even accounting for the fact that he landed far more jabs.

Jacobs and Canelo are significantly better than Cool Vince and Hatton, and Golovkin beat both of them rather than getting stopped by them and quitting like a bitch, a la Tszyu.

Now go and punch yourself in the face as punishment for your acute stupidity.

Canelo doesnt belong at 160lb, so he doesn't count
    Jacobs? haha
there's no Judah type win on GGG's resume either

unfortunately for you the comparison is close...Golovkin is slightly worse than the mexican killer - that's where he ranks

Funny how everyone is saying the whole fight how close it is, then the draw decision comes, ppl look at compubox and Lederman and suddenly its an outrageous robbery. Close fight, could see it go either way.

Yeah, except it couldn't. There is no person with a functioning brain and 2 eyes that really believes Alvarez won 7 rounds.

I referenced that fight earlier in this thread. Another example of group think and HBO commentary induced bias. I felt I was being generous to award Pacman that draw.

Alvarez could realistically have won rounds 1-3, 6, 10-12. That's 7 rounds. I had it a draw and didn't score the first round for ALvarez...but upon rewatching it, I think Alvarez won that round as well. I'll stick to the draw though as that's how I scored it initially.

The verdict wasn't the robbery that all the Canelo haters are claiming...the 10-2 card was of course, but that's another matter.

Everyone is susceptible to groupthink except you

Funny that in this instance you're the one who agrees with HBO

Also I posted a rbr supporting that decision. I've yet to see anybody give a coherent challenge to any of my rounds. You are still welcome to do so.

The way some peple here are scoring rounds is inconsistent with teh way they scored rounds in teh past. With the logic on how GGG supposedly won the fight by Canelo's back being against the ropes frequently and GGG throwing more punches and jabs, regardless of how accurate he was or was not as the case may be, you guys saying that GGG wn easily should have also scored De La Hoya-Mayweather for De La Hoya.

Don't worry about this mob...many agree with you. I just posted 7 rounds for Alvarez and anyone watching those rounds knows they could have been scored for him without trying to be biased.
