I'm not even 100% positive Cotto would've beaten CANelo, let alone Golov.

    GGG would end Cotto's career.

While it's true that it's the most probable outcome, I still think it would be a competitive fight for the first few rounds.

cotto is a few level above Murray, and seeing how he had a bit of success with bodyshots, Cotto might gives him some trouble

I hope Pacquiao knocks Mayweather out cold and then Floyd decides to take on Golovkin.

I like Murray, he's a good fighter, will take on anyone and always comes to fight. He was just up against an absurdly good opponent tonight in GGG. That was a savage beating.

Where would mayweather jr rank if he dominated Pacquiao and then golovkin in September?

its weird my only claim has ever been that mayweather jr is one of the greatest lightweights ever. i dont consider him a great welterweight. i dont consider him the best fighter in the world currently.

Cotto, I'm not sure. But I'd bet two months salary that Murray would beat the Hell outta bum ass Quillin.

GGG would stop Quillin within 4 rounds.

    Quality Win for GGG...

Not Only Did he Keep UNRELENTING Pressure Upon Murray, but his Workrate Remained Fairly Consistent Throughout...Offensively, GGG's the Total Package...He's an Even Handed Puncher who Can Hurt a Man w/ANY Shot...

On the Other Side of the Coin, Murray Landed Looping Overhand Rights @ Will...GGG Would Even Try to Lean Away from them, yet Still Got Hit...What REALLY Stood Out to REED was Golovkin's Reaction to Bodyshots....

The ONLY Time GGG Took a Backwards Step or Retreated in Any Fashion, was After Murray Landed Bodyshots...Not Saying Golovkin was HURT by them, but he Definitely Didn't Like Them...Food for Thought & Something for Future Opponents to Consider...

I strongly disagree that Murray landed at will.

Golov blocked, partially blocked, or rolled with the majority of Murray's shots. And the ones he did take flush, he barely blinked.

GGG has a solid defense for an offensive fighter. ANY guy who's as aggressive, and relentless as GGG is gonna take SOME flush shots, but relative to most others with his style, GGG's defense is very solid.

The fact remains that from 154-168 the ONLY guy capable of beating GGG is Ward.

GGG would knock out fragile Cotto, he'd beat Canelo like a runaway slave, he'd give punching Chavez Junior a one sided beating, and he would methodically break down Froch.

Ward is the ONLY fighter who has the ability, SIZE, and talent to beat GGG.

Murray COULDN'T Miss Golovkin w/the Looping Overhand Right, X...Rewatch the 1st 3-4 Rounds...Dude Even Started Leaning Away from the Shots & STILL Got Hit...

The "Problem" was, Murray Couldn't Bust a Grape w/a Sledgehammer, Nor Could he Withstand the INCOMING, which Understandably Made him RELUCTANT to Throw the Right Hand, as the Bout Progressed...

To his Credit, GGG Was Never the Least Bit Deterred, but he DID Get Hit...A LOT...

Too Bad Golovkin Doesn't Have the Desire to PROVE the Rest of your Post Correct, ie., Moving Up to '68...

This is where your blatant GGG hate comes into play.

There's only three NAMES at 168: Chavez, Froch, and Ward.

Chavez BLATANTLY ducked Golov last summer.

Froch has NO INTEREST in fighting Golov, and has said as much.

And we STILL don't know when Ward will return.

Personally, I'd rather see GGG fight Cotto or Canelo rather than Chavez Junior.

At least Cotto and Canelo have ability. Chavez Junior is a talentless bum with nothing more than a solid chin, and a famous last name.

GGG is MUCH closer to Chavez SENIOR's talent level than his own son is.

Just Because REED Chooses NOT to Drink from the Phallic Temple of GGG, DOESN'T Make him a "Hater"...You Obviously like the Taste of it & That's your Business...

Has an OFFER Been Made to Froch???...If Not, NO ONE Can Say for Sure if he Truly WANTS the Fight or Not...Floyd's NEVER Been Keen on Fighting Manny, yet Enough Money was Eventually Shown to Coerce him into Doing Just That...

Saying Froch has "No Interest" is GGG Nuthugger, Proxy Win Bullshit...If Froch was Never OFFERED the Fight, SHOWN a Contract, the Rest is Irrelevant...

Fuuuuuurthermore, Bouts w/Bika, Abraham, or Either Dirrell Brother Would Be MORE Intriguing than ANY Fight GGG's Had to Date...

I coulda swore that I read a RECENT article in which Froch said for a SECOND time that he has no interest in fighting Golov. Froch is ready to retire, and wants either Chavez or Hopkins as a final fight. Chavez, because he's a bum. And Hopkins, because he's 105 years old.

I don't think Froch has the desire to go through the pain of a GGG fight as his final bout.

I'm not dissing Froch; he's an EXTREMELY brave and confident man. However, he's not stupid. He's obviously higher on Golov's ability than YOU are. Perhaps 5 years ago when Froch was younger, fresher, and hungier, he'd have no problem fighting Golov. But he knows he's old, he knows he's been in MANY tough battles, and he knows that GGG is a killer. He doesn't wanna fight him at this point.

As for the MONEY aspect; HBO would OBVIOUSLY rather see GGG-Cotto than GGG-Froch.

Golov wants to become a mainstream STAR, and who can blame him? Beating a guy like Sakio Bika, or a Dirrell brother is gonna do SHIT for making him a star.

Knocking out Cotto will make him a star.

Cotto is the one who CHOSE to move up to 160 and fight the lineal middleweight champion. Now, he should man up and fight the BEST middleweight in the world.

BTW, I'm HARDLY a GGG blind nut hugger.

There's some groupies who think GGG could have beaten prime versions of Hagler, Hopkins, and Jones.

    I think that's absurd.

I just think GGG is a helluva fighter, he's a LIKABLE person, and he has an extremely pleasing style.

What You're Saying is, GGG Wants to Take the Path of LEAST Resistance, Which is Why REED & Many Others AREN'T as Enamored w/Him as You Are...

We'd Learn MORE about GGG in Bouts w/Bika, Abraham or Either Dirrell, @ '68, than we Would in a THOUSAND Bouts w/the Geale's, Murray's and Macklin's of the World...& There's NOfuckingGUARANTEE Golovkin Blazes that Trail w/his 0 Intact...But Apparently, YOU'D Prefer Dude Have a Record of 1,000 - 0, 1,000 KO's Though, Against SHIT Opposition &/or Undersized Foes...

You're Basically Co-Signing on Golovkin CHERRY PICKING, Feasting on Fringe "Names" @ '60 & WAITING on SMALLER Dudes like Cotto/Canelo to (Hopefully) Fight him...In the Meantime, He's doing DICK, yet You're Praising him like he's the Best Thing to Happen to Boxing Since the Invention of the Mouf' Piece...

    Fuck That...

If You Want to Label REED a "Hater" for Simply Wanting a Dude to CHALLENGE Himself, so Be It...For Chrissakes, HBO Named GGG "Fighter of the Year" on Lampley's 'Fight Game' Show, yet YOU Act like REED's the 1 that's Got it All Wrong???...

I don't think Froch-Golovkin is a lock for GGG at all if that were to happen. It's a shame it won't happen as I'd love to see it.

I used to think it was a pick em fight due to Frock's size, toughness, experience etc, but now I think it's pretty much a lock for Gaybox.

He'd abuse Chavez JR too, he'd look like a walking punchbag. It would look similar to Pacquiao Vs Plasterito.

I would like to see Gaybox take on Ward, I wouldn't discount his chances at all.
