Tokuyama impresses me. I seem to be his only defender, but I think he was a really good technician.

But no, I definitely say Roman was a different caliber and would outclass Tokuyama - I just don't see it as a blowout.

I don't think he was a bad fighter or anything. I just think he was a bit negative and Lara-esque. Good skills for sure, but he squandered himself with his tendancies to clinch, or run.

Although one of the Kawashima was very good. Although I forget which.

I posed this question on Eastside maybe like two years ago, but would you say was better: Roman or Lora?

I think the answer is Lora, but Happy obviously ranks lower division wise because of how much historically deeper 118 is compared to 115.

I'd say Roman. I think he's slightly less talented, but more skilled and more accomplished.

Lora was damn good though. I love watching that guy.

Roman made the most of his skills and abilities. Lora didn’t. It’s still close, because of the talent gap, but I’d rate Roman higher.all time. He’s a divisional GOAT, in my opinion. And it’s really not that weak a weight class historically.

I would agree Roman got more out his abilities, but peak wise, I don't think Roman was as good as the Lora who white washed Davila.

    We’re in agreement there.

Alright Pea, just rewatched Nana vs Roman, and some things really took me by surprise, which I had clearly forgotten from the Moon fights. Konadu was extremely fast, and just as fluid. Very explosive too. He quite reminded me of Ike Quartey with his jab. Very thudding and he worked off it well, he also cut the ring down with it well. He also seemed to have Roman on the mat whenever he landed more than one punch clean.

I think he could very well beat a prime Roman. My bet wouldn't be the typical 'he-catches-him-while-down-on-points', it'd be that a quicker Roman would be out-boxing Nana early, but would get more and more gun-shy after taking the power before Konadu stalks him to a decision, using the jab.

I think he'd smash Laciar, Ballas, Chocolatito, Estrada, Rungvisai, etc; but lose to Khaosai (don't hold me to this one, I still need to watch more of him), Borkhorsor, Penalosa, Inoue, Tapia, and obviously Moon.

One I like, but am not sure of, is Jiro. I don't know whether Watanabe could force the fight enough to win, while being cautious enough to not lose. Konadu may be the safer bet due to styles.

    Onto the Chuwatana fights!

Khaosai to me is still the H2H GOAT at 115, but I see Watanabe matching up the best against him.

Roman's chin wasn't good enough to beat Khaosai, Moon was too hittable, and Tapia didn't have enough power to keep him off.

Maybe the best matchup to make outta those 5 would be Watanabe vs Moon.

You would think Jiro's skills would decide that fight, but part of me thinks Moon is too much for Watanabe.
