Oh so you would base it on Simon Brown and John David Jackson?

Bernard Hopkins is overrated and made his career on beating up former welterweights.

    Boxing knowledge indeed.

his best wins at 160 are tito and odh. so i guess you're right. probably the best proof that he has skills though is the first echols fight. in that fight he countered beautifully off the ropes and remained ultra-slippery without holding or running.

also, he won virtually every round against holmes and joppy. but the holmes fight was stinky as hell.

oh, i forgot, he beat the hell out of vanderpol too who wasn't a bad fighter at the time, but again - another stinky as hell fight.

he definitely is a stinker. and like you said, i think he's able to overcome his old age with stink.

i also think he's done a lot of steroids in his career, judging from his ability to keep weight off and the changes apparent in his facial features over time.

Amazing, you list Tommy Hearns among your All-Time Great Middleweights and then slam Hopkins for his resume...

I would base Hopkins greatness on beating everyone put in front of him for 10 years and 21 championship fight...

And then you slam Bernard for his dirty fighting and throw Jake Lamotta's name on your list of 5 All-Time Greats.... That's hilarious..

But, for a teenybopper who's probably only seen 2 or 3 of Bernard's fights, I should expect nothing less..

Just as I expected. The 6'6 meat head comes in here throwing insults instead of backing up his claims with facts.

Why don't you list Bernard Hopkins TOP 5 BEST middleweight victories.

Ummmm... Length of reign, title defenses----Those seem like facts to me. Help me out here...

It's tough for Hopkins haters to swallow that the guy is still around beating top caliber guys.. Live with it and get over it...

I just asked you one simple question.

Now here is the second time.

Name Borenard's Top 5 middleweight victories. :dunno:

Does it take 3 times for you to get anything right?

Well, if you develop any reading comprehension you can scroll back and see that I clearly said that I base Hopkins greatness on length of reign and title defenses..

So if a guy goes on a bum of the month title run for 20 title defenses, that's great to you?

    Competition does matter, HENCE...

I'm just asking you a simple question trplsec. I don't know how I can make this any more simple for you.

Name Hopkins TOP 5 Middleweight victories... the division you claim where he's an all-time great capable of hanging with the best of the best in the middleweight division all-time.
This is the THIRD time I'm asking you to just list 5 names boxing expert.

I'll name Hopkins top 5, if you name Hearn's top 5... Deal?

Sure if I can include Hearns career from Jr. Middleweight to Super Middleweight because Hearns only had 2 or 3 fights at middleweight.

So you go first, then I'll go.

So you can be considered a great MW based on performances against Non-Middleweight opposition?

And Hearns had 6 or 7 MW fights.... He was brutally knocked out in 2 of them... So I guess you can list the other 4 or 5....

I never said that list was my "ALL-TIME MIDDLEWEIGHT LIST", I put those names out there to see who people would pick if they fought Hopkins at middleweight. I think based on Hearns performance at the weight classes from 154-168 he would give Hopkins trouble. People agreed with me that Hearns would give Hopkins trouble and Hearns isn't even one of the best at middleweight in the list I made.

My point is not about Hearns vs Hopkins, it's about Hopkins being considered in the same company as the BEST middleweights of all-time which is your claim.

So name Hopkins Top 5 middleweight victories to back up your claim. That's all I ask, this is the forth time.

Judging by your difficulty in answering the question and your constant semantical play and stalling, you know my point is valid.

Let's see if trplsec ignores the question for a 4th time.

That's the best response you can come up with...

    Waiting........

I never said Hearns was an ALL-TIME GREAT MIDDLEWEIGHT.

btw, your list for Hopkins let us examine:

Trindad - Former welterweight, smaller man. 3-2 at middleweight
Joppy - Trinidad already beat this guy down badly. Still he's the second best middleweight on this list.
De La Hoya - Former welterweight, smaller man. 1-1 at middleweight, some say 0-2.
Glenn Johnson - Decent win over a raw Johnson. He wasn't a champion or belt holder.
Holmes - This guy lost his belt to Hacine Cherifi, and had to fight to get it back, enough said.

This is what you base all-time greatness on. You have no right to question anyone's boxing knowledge again trplsac. :nono:

Roy's LONGEVITY was RiDICKulous & he Defended his "Status" (Accumulating World Titles @ 3 Weights & UNIFYING Light heavy) Numerous Times Along the Way...

You dispute my boxing knowledge because you're not impressed with Hopkins resume? That's silly..

And by the way, you can diminish almost anyone's resume using your rationale..

Go ahead, give me Marvin Hagler's Top 5 wins as Champion..

    Please...

Exactly, when you look at the names on Hagler's resume, Hearns is the only one that is considered an all time great...

Guess what, he's a former Welterweight and was knocked out cold by Iran Barkley at 160..

    See how easy that is?

 To diminish Hopkins and his accomplishments is to be a meatball.

I'll just chalk it up to Alabama_Man being brand new.

Well, you left out Roberto Duran.

Of course, he's the guy who peaked 5-7 years earlier and four divisions below where Hagler beat him (the most overrated "close" fight ever).

jones claimed he fought w/ one hand yet i saw him throw a bunch of combinations throughout the fight (although he really didn't land all that much).

that was hardly an ass kicking displayed by jones.

hopkins was to seal his legacy that early in his career?

    you sir, are an idiot.
