Half the people in the forum threaten to throw acid in people's faces and other shit. You just can't take it too seriously, or you'd end up banning a heck of a lot of people.

    no but it helps

seriously how many fights do you see before a title....no wait... a million dollar payday is in your grasp? Considering even the most touted amatuers to come out recently still haven't seen million dollar paydays I am wondering exactly how you are going to be different.

either way I offered up my advice. Good luck and when you grab that million dollar payday within 12-24 months time you can tell me how wrong I was.

    I'll be waiting......buddy

Certain examples...but they are more exceptions {and vague at that} to the rule.

Ricky Williams and Evander Oldyfield did $1m signing on deals.

David Reid fought for a title in his, 12th bout? I think so....and he would have been earning by the Trinidad fight.

very true but all these guys (you can add Fernando Vargas as well) were highly touted coming out of the ammy ranks. Here we got someone who is asking for that type of money while he has been 6 years out, is out of shape, and has no promoter to work under. I love the reach for the top thing but I just don't see it.

Also, when the Williams deal was announced the overwhelming view was that DBE paid far too much for him (I think it was 1.1 million total). Panchito, Lacy, Cotto if I am not mistaken all got considerably less.

in the end I hope I am proven wrong, this kid becomes the next big star, gets 1.2 million in his 15th fight and comes back to say I was wrong

Is Andre Ward gettign anywhere near those numbers.

Theh class of 2000's failures brought about very low to no signing bonuses for kids coming out of the amateurs.

You're right. Demanding ridiculous amounts of money when you're some nobody who hasn't accomplished a damn thing as a pro boxer, who fights in a division that doesn't have many big money fights, and who is coming off a layoff of several years, which shows your heart isn't into it....that's "Keeping it Real".

Win some fights. Beat some ranked opponents. Win a belt. Then your money will come. But to think you deserve a big money contract without having done any of that, that's just an insult to the many boxers who are trying to earn their money. You're trying to be handed money.

    There's a huge difference.

You won't make to many fans with that attitude.

Me and zab are cool, I would never spar a close friend to get him ready for a big fight like that Cupey, because we would both be in there trying to knock each other out, and you dont risk a friendship, over a month in training.....too many days, too many chances, and too many egoos going on to be trying to hurt one another. Some fighters take it easy during sparring, I try not too, because it is like practicing for the real deal, and I was always taught that how you practice or train, will be how you fight. And Zab spars the same way, just as he will fight. Me and Zab were roomates back in 96, we were both Olympic alternates...we fought against Russia and Germany together as well..Me and his brother Daniel got really tight in the amateurs as well.

I will have many fans.............Fighters will tune in when I fight, everyone loves when I box, its a display of grace mixed with a killer instinct...so if I have fighters that are big fans of mines, then you know I will have many fans........very soon, you will be speeding home from work, thinking "Gerald Tucker is about to fight, he is a bad boy, I cant miss that fight"...you will get pulled over and get a speeding ticket and give the officer $500, and tell the officer "keep the change, thats for the next 10 fights that Gerald Tucker fights because I will be speeding home from work again"!!!

You're gonna be fighting at 4:00 on a weekday?

Not too many million dollar paydays at that time slot.
