Nick's biggest grips seems to be that people don't respect him. Then he goes and behaves like a child. He spent so long calling GSP out and when he eventually gets a shot he does everything in his power to fuck it up.

It's very difficult to root for Diaz.

Prediction, A proper beat down from GSP

    Condit vs Hendricks.

Who do you guys have winning? I'll take Condit by UD or late stoppage.

Yeah I think Carlos has more than enough to win by UD

HOpefully Nick Wins, as he's the anti-GSP, meaning he's not fake and boring. Nick has a god chance late, cause GSP will start to fall apart mentally if Nick is still coming at him after three rounds

A Diaz win cold be horrible for the UFC. Imagine he wins and test positive for weed? The UFC would be forced to cut him loose. So then what? After a suspension, the best 170 pounder in the world lands in Bellator?

I almost hope it happens for that reason alone.

Nick could beat GSP and he still isn't the best welterweight in the world. A winner over GSP is huge, but he lost to the only other legitimate WW contender he's faced in the last 5 years.

I hope Nick wins because he has a very exciting style and would make for great 5 round fights as champion. The only problem is if he does beat GSP he will most likely have to rematch him right away and if he beats him again he will probably end up being out wrestled by Hendricks or Koscheck or some other boring ass 170 pounders. But all wishful thinking aside GSP will win and Diaz will test for weed post fight and that will be that.

Nah, narrow, some say disputed loss to Condit and a win over GSP and Diaz will be considered the best welter in MMA.

but the point was really about him being somewhere else.

Do you guys think George will try to prove something and stand with Diaz ? At least a bit?

I do. Diaz is hardly unhittable and if GSP gets in and out quickly or engages and then shoots he'll have some success. Diaz beats on people when they stand in front of him. No way George will do that.

I expect GSP to fight and beat Nick Diaz the exact same way Henderson beat his little bro.

By the way, pretty sure BJ Penn would have been considered a "legitimate WW contender". Let's not revise history. Penn fought to a draw in a title elimination bout right before facing Diaz. He was ranked in the Top 5 easily when Diaz walked through him.

i don't see gsp immediately going for the takedown. i actually have a feeling that gsp's going to back him up with jabs before taking it to the ground. plus, diaz, like his brother seems vulnerable to the leg and gsp's all around game should be a bit much.

Ranked top 5 by who? Sherdog and MMA Weekly both had BJ ranked 9 and 10 AFTER the Fitch bout. BJ Penn isn't a WW. The success he's had at WW is because of his natural talent, not because he belongs there.

Nick was on a roll. GSP seemed genuinely annoyed.

Hendricks to me isn't that impressive. He's got some nice KO's, but lost to Rick Story who is completely average and IMO also lost the fight to Kos, but was gifted a SD.

    Condit is whooping this dude.

I sure as hell won't be anything close to sober. We have about 20-25 people coming over for a BBQ/UFC/Early St Patricks
party. I will be fucked up as all hell. I'm the defending beer pong champ, and even when you win you're drinking a shit load of beers. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of whisky we have.
