I predicted you would be swinging from Xplosive's nuts in every thread like a baby koala. Its now 2024 and I was 100% correct.
George thinks plenty independently and there's often times he and I don't see eye to eye. Now, when Haney stops Ryan, I'll be here to tell you I told you so.
Can we all reassess Regis and say hes just an above average guy but can't cut off the ring and limited. Taylor is good but should be dealt with by the top guys as Teo did. Haney is getting overrated. I know Ryan is a fraud himself though. He got lucky to pull out a shot to win his last fight. I'm not as high on Haney as most and I will roll with Ryan here. He's got to be the big bully in the fight the way he was vs Luke Campbell. You just knew who was going to win that fight all along, even when he got dropped. Man vs boy. He needs that dynamic here.
I think garcia is okay with fighting haney because of his lack of power. Isn't garcia taller than haney? Haney's been feasting on short guys.....will be interesting to see how he handles the taller garcia
Garcia's okay with fighting Haney because he's beaten him before. Even though it was the amateurs, it still gives him confidence. I don't think Ryan's height will matter. What will matter is Ryan's piss poor footwork and lack of any ring IQ.
A big L for Slater. He’s supposed to be an all-state wrestler, getting recruited by the University of Iowa, and he lets that preppy bust his face.
Back in the 80s and 90s, a High School fight like that resulted in a week of afterschool detention for both guys, and that was it. Nowadays, that type of fight leads to both kids getting expelled and possibly arrested.
Even while I was at high school, over just those five years the punishments for fights got a lot worse. Usually you'd expect a day in internal exclusion - idk what Americans would call it, but it's basically where you've gotta sit in a room on your own all day and do an hour detention at the end - and that was that. Soon it started creeping up to a few days, then a week, then a regular exclusion, to just straight kicking people out. It was always up to the parents to decide if the police got involved or not, though. What always bugged me though, was the idea that violence is never acceptable. If someone punches you in the face as an adult, there's next to no legal repercussions if you defend yourself. At school, it was irrelevant who started it, both got the exact same punishmemt which is ridiculous.
Regarding that second paragraph, in the States we'd call that in-school suspension. But same concept.
So, VERY surprising twist: Haney vs Ryan is landing at the Barclays Center. A true head-scratcher considering both guys are from Cali - I thought it'd be a lock for either Vegas or LA. But, this means I just might go.
Ryan said something interesting about Haney making best out of what he got. Devin is deceptively good at what he does. He's an over achiever in the sense that he doesn't do anything great. He has good fundamentals and a strong work ethic. Ryan only has a good left hook. I see this as a shutout for Dev by UD in a very boring win.
Haney is a lot more talented than Ryan. Don't think that is a fair (or intelligent) characterization of Haney at all.
Haney can't punch much but he'll hit that fagget alot. As long as he works his jab and presses he should stop him. If he's leery of the hook maybe it goes rounds Garcia reacts like a pussy to getting hit. Turning his back vs that last nobody
Ryan said on ESPN on Tuesday when asked how he recovered from the Tank loss: "I was good! I was happy, drinkin and chillin after." Yea... the IG influencer has no chance.
Not a haney fan whatsoever but I'll be out in vegas for the tszyu ppv if it actually happens and if I see decent odds on a stoppage I'll lay down some dollars
He won't be around much longer after April. The jig will be up. Ryan can go off to a bar and get plastered with Taylor, after Catterall whups Taylor's ass the following week.
I was watching the presser and thinking that between Ryan & Oscar, there's enough cocaine on that stage to give a prime Escobar a run for his business.
Ryan Garcia is once again too focused on his social media. Bragging about his new girlfriend and getting high af. Lack of discipline and focus is too obvious. He’s gonna be getting another L soon.
