Aye certainly, i suppose the correct generalization if theres one to be made is that striking arts are more useful than grappling arts in street situations rather than drawing the boundry lines between boxing and MMA. But I think further than that, even though youd rather know Muay Thai than boxing (and youd rather know Jui Jitsu on top of that) no matter how much you know the absolute first instinct of any fighter in a risky situation would be to end thing with his hands if its possible. So in that limited sense boxing DOES look more like the street.

 

Joking aside, I don't think Mayweather Jr will be prepared for what Hatton brings to the table.
If he can't impose any authority early (Rds 1-4), then he'll find himself up shit-creek without a paddle: Hatton won't stop punching til Mayweather is gone.
