Hatton will stop punching after about six rounds...Floyd's Dancing with the Stars gig will have him WELL prepared for someone trying to get cheek to cheek with him.

all this racial talk is being overblown. how many puerto ricans will be going for mosley when he fights cotto in november? how many filipinos will be going for barrera against pac? this thing with mayweather/hatton is more nationalistic than racial. most african-americans WILL go for floyd mayweather...DUHHHH  ...most white brits will go for hatton....DUHHHH  and it's not necessarily because of both guys races.

as far as black people go, too many of you (and this goes for the people phonetap likes and respects as well) think blacks are this mindless homogeneous race who support one another across the globe. ike quartey and african fighters (for example) do not and will never have have legions of african-american supporters. lennox lewis was never beloved by african-americans...anyone care to answer why? since phonetap has planted a new seed of thought for many of you maybe someone can generate a well thoughout and knowledgeable answer.

where phonetap is concerned, he could care less who wins. if floyd wins, great, then maybe you haters will shut the fuck up for a couple days and if hatton wins, great, he'll cement his all-time status & legacy then move on to greater things.

Never seen any sign of this yet...unless you want to refer back to the Collazo fight.
The Collazo fight is and always will be, the Americans' only 'bargaining-chip' in this forthcoming fight. For every Collazo, there's a weight-drained Corrales; a plodding Chavez; a succession of shot N'Dou/Corley/Gattis/Mitchell's; sad-old-plodder Baldomir; shit-old-fajita De la Hoya.

Remember, the door swings both ways.

right now, believe it or not...hatton. floyd's act has worn thin as far as phonetap is concerned. "however" that can change if phonetap sees blatant racism towards mayweather...

Sly is totally wrong, Salaco is right.

With Brits it is always about culture, and representing Britain.

Bruno and Benn were both pretty typical Brits, and hence they got huge support, from brits of all races.

Lewis was a Canadian/Jamaican hybrid that made a last ditch attempt of pretending to be a brit, but it didn't work, he was never really going to be liked what with his canadian-ness and his boring personality and stupid voice and accent.

I guarantee fuck loads of English blacks are going to be supporting Hatton in this fight, because he is a good old typical beer drinking Brit, down to earth, likeable and VERY British.

Britain is one of the least racist and segregated countries I've been to.

France is very multi cultural and Paris for example is very mixed in, there aren't many "racial areas" apart from Chinatown, people are all mixed up together. However, I would say France is a bit more racist than Britain. Brits in general, this generation, are not racist.

Don't listen to SLystaff, he doesn't know what he is talking about.

Wait a minute....Hatton indeed does reduce his punch output over the 2nd half of fights; and relies more on clinching and mauling (vs. the first half where he is more "on his toes" and more willing to fire from the outside).

The Tszyu, Urango AND Collazo fights show this.

There were also glimmers of it vs. Tackie, Phillips...and even Castillo though it was 4 rounds.

    Peace.

I'm picking Floyd to win, but rooting for Hatton. The good thing about this is both guys are relatively young and still undefeated. This is not one of those situations where a win for one guy would be "better for boxing" than the other. I can see upsides either way.

With the amount of attention it will be getting, lets just all hope it's a better fight than Mayweather-ODLH was.

I was born and raised in England. No one can tell me that it's not inherently a racist country. No one. You wouldn't believe some of the things I can tell you. I'll just leave it at that for now.

Hatton is a typical champion of the type of people that I used to loathe in britain. Americans and others (and non blacks) wouldn't understand that.

How old are you Sly? And where were you raised?

I only ask because i've very rarely seen racist abuse here in Liverpool. The main reason for this is football - the local sunday league set up is huge and the teams and matches bring people of all races together. The result is a great mix of friends and associates.

The fact that there are now 4-5 universities has also helped matters greatly.

Obviously, i can't account for what you have experienced in the past.

BUT, don't just stereotype hatton fans as ignorant scum, his personality has ensured that pretty much everyone likes him. After all, what's not to like? He comes across as your average guy, who just happens to excell in a particularly lucrative sport. You'll still find him down his local boozer on a Sunday afternoon with his mates.

OK sly, give me a country that's as multi ethnic as England is that's considerably less racist.

And like Salaco said sly, you've been out of England for a while, you don't really know what it's like now.

By the way, I don't like the typical British lager lout either, and I fucking hate chavs, hate them. Don't forget although I am an Englishman, I am French/Jew by origin. I am by no means a typical Brit.

But I do love England, and Hatton does seem like a good dude, there's no doubt, he is not a prick, he just happens to be a typical working class British lad type.

Hatton is not a thug, and to me he doesn't represent the lager lout football hooligan types, he's more a good old fashioned working class lad. Working class Brit doesn't equal thug etc.

sly has been saying for years he was subjected to racism back in england but has never truly elaborated on it. sly is known to bullshit but in this case he may be talling the truth...phonetap will give him the benefit of the doubt that something did happen.

    Fair enough!

Also it IS true that I haven't lived in Britain for about a decade AND my experiences do stem mainly from the 80s and early 90s. So I'm willing to consider that my opinion is based upon an outdated situation.

But Hatton's face and manner just reminds me of the typical Essex THUGS I used to have to beat up in order to protect myself and my little brother grwoing up.

I guess he brings out the dormant HATE in my heart! :warning:

Whether I hate a fighter or not I'm OBJECTIVE when it comes to picking a fight.

That said...Mosley wins..but Hatton is a tougher fight for Floyd than Shane is. Styles makes fights.
