I will say one thing though. I hope Hatton gets completely outboxed and completely embarrassed and stopped late. I don't want people to have the excuse "Well, Floyd ran etc". I was a complete pummelling of Hatton in every department.

I've only bothered reading teh first 6-7 pages of the thread, but it's quickly become my favourite since Orion's 'I'm not your average man' debacle.

It's not because it's PBF and not Hatton...it's because Mayweather, as you yourself said, is just not that good at it.

So Hatton's "playing it cool" and basically ignoring him came off more effective than normal, maybe.

At the end of the day, like Eans said - they both played their roles very well and the conference went like everyone thought it would.

I think Hatton's playing it very well.

He will be taking the piss out of floyd on his dancing show and as you said in an earlier post "sitting back and watching floyd make a fool of himself" when Floyd is talking his poor trash talk.

 

It could stay all in good fun. I understand your fear about it getting out of control. However, realistically, this fight was always destined to polarize fans along racial lines.

It's not because Hatton is Caucasian per se (because the Klitschos vs a black man wouldn't do it)...but it's because he's a pasty white Briton with a bunch of typical English hooligans as his fanbase...and because Floyd is so stereotypically black (the rap cuture behind him etc).

Problem is, there's "nothing wrong" with it - when it's convenient; or when you happen to "not mind it"; or when it favors the point someone is trying to make.

That's inconsistency and a double-standard.

This should be a transparent issue because it is about the boxers' behaviors and ring personalities.

Whether it's motivated by race - and the accompanying racial generalizations, stereotypes and categorizations - should have absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

Those who brought it up first should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't know what's happened to this thread since the comedy gold of teh first few pages but, i see two fighters: one is a pure boxer of supreme ability and appears to be a complete cunt; the other is an exciting mauler who comes across as a down to earth guy. Because of this, i favour Hatton.

Admittedly, the fact that he lives about 40 minutes away adds to my favouring of hatton.
