A bit like saying Leeds will rule League 1.

As long as Haye keeps his fucking mouth SHUT about Heavyweight, I will hold my tongue. The minute he talks bollox about the heavyweight division being wide open for him, I am going to start in on him again.

This guy lost to CARL THOMPSON.

Thompson lost to Johnny Nelson, Ezra Sellers FFS.

Haye hits no harder than Corrie Sanders, and even he couldn't "lightsout" Wlad.

Haye has just become Gerry fucking Cooney all over again.

Damn. The fight wasn't on my book, but I wouldn't have looked anyway. I'd have expected Bika to be around -150 to -175 or so. :eeeek:

Haye's point obviously was that there are only three linear champs. Haye is the #1 cruiserweight, Hatton is the #1 junior welterweight and Calzaghe is the #1 super middleweight. All are now universally regarded as THE champs of their divisions.

Rees, Witter and Woods are all alphabet titlists. Drawing a blank as to who the 7th UK-based world champ might be (Alex Arthur? Though I thought he was an interim champ). But I wouldn't call any of them legitimate champs. Woods might be the closest, he won a vacant title, but eventually beat the man that was stripped (Johnson), but light heavyweight is a mess.

They're to the point where all of the top players need to face each other in playoff-format, with the last man standing declared The champ. The Erdei-Hopkins debate is an exercise in futility, as both are doing fuck all to preserve their claim as THE man at 175. But adding to the cause, Woods, Dawson and (who's the WBA champ these days, Drews?) aren't doing much more.

As far as I am concerned, Haye is no more consolidated as the man at 200 than Calazghe was before the Lacy win. You need to unify or defeat other claimants to get that order. For the time being, Haye is no more the man than Maccarinelli. Him and Macca need to get it on, a la Calzaghe-Kessler. As for Woods, he just defeated JCG again, so thats a bit better than nothing.

How is Haye the #1 Cruiser, other than by his own claim???

    :dunno:

He is #1 by opinion, not even consensus opinion, just as Kessler was a #1 before he lost to Calzaghe.

Wasn't Mormeck/Braithwaite for the #1 in the division?

Enzo hasn't earned balls, he was gifted a title. Rees is a bum, Woods I like but he's not the man at LHW.

Lets say Johnny Nelson not having the balls to fight him means that Enzo was gifted...lets just suppose that for a second......   ....Enzo has more than earned it retrospectively with a win over Braithwaithe. Haye vs Mock, Thompson, the Belgian lad and Fragomeni....ahhhh yes, these are the big fights.

Says who?? If Kessler had a claim to the #1 spot after he beat Beyer despite Joe beating Lacy, then surely the same ambiguity applies here.???

What is that French for "Undisputed"??

Even if it was for the "undisputede" {whatever that is} title, that claim is well and truly disputed at this stage. The belts are fragmented and hegemony can only be achieved by success in unification showdowns.

Until that is done, Haye can shut his gob. And if he mentions heavyweight....

Damn, so close yet so far away.

My prediction was basically that Haye wouldn't survive the 4th like he did (Mormeck by KO within 7).....almost.

Congrats to Haye - he pulled it out of the fire big-time and is basically THE MAN at Cruiser.

    Well done.

And kudos to those that picked him!

    Peace.

Well Wlad was dropped by Chinless Williamson, who is a piss poor version of Haye in every regard and he was stoppped by the glorified punching bag Ross Puritty, if we want to bring up meaningless bouts.

Rees hasn´t earned sh*t. His title shot was a complete joke, and Enzo still hasn´t fought a top ten cruiserweight.

Earned it retrospectively?? , he fought Hobson to get the shot, then fought him again for the title...you think there weren't any other cruisers available? It was Warren keeping it in-house in collaboration with Valcarel

If you'd seen Braithwaite against Jones, you would have seen that his best was behind him, and that was long before the Enzo fight. I still give him credit for stepping it up relatively speaking. Haye has just beaten THE man at the weight, nuff said.

Yeah Haye simply won't have the power at heavyweight. He's retarded if he moves up.

I am pretty surprised to be honest. The fight looked how I imagined it in my head, then Mormeck just suddenly got taken out

Bonin is a punching bag but he's usually more durable, I'd bet Haye's power will be just fine at HW, his chin may not hold up but if he's brought along carefully he might at least be in a position to protect it better...

Mormeck.....a former KO victim in his own right. Macarinelli fought Hobson cos that Sheffield bitch Nelson pulled out. You can't blame Enzo for that. He's already made one glam queen Brit cruiser run, and KO'd another, Haye will be next. Like I said, I'll do my bit and lay off Haye for now, but its only a matter of time before he opens his mug about Heavy, and when he does..........

Anybody who thinks Haye has a shot at Heavyweight needs their head examined.

And Hayes head will be examined, just not by a shrink.

Its not his power.....its his chin, stamina and conditioning. Haye will do a Naz on this...he'll keep talking about the Erik Morales and the Floyd Mayweathers of the higher divisions, but he'll keep loitering around at 200 until he gets his arse burst again.

Except one indisputable department: DaVarryl Williamson was a legitimate heavyweight......and there is a world of difference between a heavyweight and a non-heavyweight. There are heavyweights and then there is everything else. There are Ferraris and then there are Dodges with nos kits.

And, BTW, Klitschko got back up. Losing at Cruiserweight, and getting dropped in other cruiserweight bouts, and then claiming you can hack it at heavy is not the same as losing at heavyweight and then proving you can hack it at heavyweight. Haye has done one, Klitscho has done the other. Try not to forget that basic fact.

Same height and weight as the heavyweight Haye I envision. Williamson always weighs in between 210 and 220.

    :nono: Haye vs. MORMECK....

Who was unified, had beaten Bell, Braithwaite when he was undefeated, TOOK the title from Hill and beat him 2x, plus Brown, Gurov.

With the win over Braithwaite, Enzo has earned.....second best at best; because Mormeck beat him first and unified.

    What is this "retrospective" stuff?

    You know better.

Hate Haye all you want and if you find his "disrespect" distasteful, fine....but don't make stuff up, OC.

    Peace.
