Bro, Ronnie is a personal friend of mine.
I know the deal between him and Carter, ok?
He is the man, you are correct.
Ron is one of the best ambassadors boxing has ever had.
But the part about Carter fighting in prison I beleive, and Ron will tell you it's true about Rube being the baddest headknocker in the slam.
    The crime itself?
I'll take Lipton's word on that.

For a 5'8" guy, Rueben must have been pretty bad. I wonder what that would have made Dick Tiger.:dunno: Or that guy that dropped a decision to Tiger....Italian guy, light-heavy. De-something

PS my compliments to ROn on his outstanding physical shape at such a {relatively} advanced age.:bears:

    He is something, huh?
He runs the biggest boxing gym in the US, Snoop's Gym in New York, and can still probably wear all those kids out, and you know as well as I do that him producing a future World's Champion is inevitable with his vast experience.
Tiger was the only guy that Carter ever said "beat the shit out of the Hurricane."
Ron used to spar with Tiger as well in the basement of the old Madison Square Garden.
That's why I think Cotto should move up and take on Jermain Taylor for the middleweight title.
Emile Griffith (whom Ron sparred as well) did it against a far more formidable fighter than Taylor in the great Dick Tiger.

I met the kid as well (big kid), and he seemed like a very nice and respectable young man who addressed me as Sir, and I agree with joony here.
You would have never have guessed this kid could do something like this if you met him once, but perhaps it may have been a front.
Again; Kermit and all of his people were totally cool and respectful to me and vice-versa, but this shit is uncalled for.
Reminds me of Tony Ayala back in the day.
What a waste of talent as Travis can fight, and would have been a major player at heavyweight in about two more years, IMO.
I'll bet his dad is heartbroken.
I walked right up to Marshall in Houston and said I am a friend of Jake's, and he said "You are allright with us, then" and gave me full access to his fighter.
