I love it when all the guys who don't even post in here run over and talk shit when a name loses. You would get KO'd in seconds by Chuck and so would LOK. Try it out if you guys are so badass. Now that would be comedy.
Who here claims that they can beat Chuck? I was happy and amused when he got blasted but that results more because I love boxing more than MMA and find it discouraging to see an obviously amateurish boxing style having so much success in the UFC. Obviously, that has changed. I think Chuck was great for the UFC as a champion and definitely from a marketing and revenue standpoint.
Wahh, wahhh, wahh. Stop crying Z. I hate on Chuck all the time, not just when he loses. What part of I've been saying for years that Chuck is ass didn't you understand? Also, I'm not a pro fighter and don't claim to be. Liddell sucks, and the only reason he was good for so long was because he was fighting guys who suck more.
that is not totally true Z have you boxed? or fought MMA or anything? even if you have not.. you can understand that things like uppercuts thrown from distance while leaving your chin exposed is NOT a good thing Boxing technique would mean shit here.. you would not do that in boxing and as they were standing up and fighting.. that move exposed his chin and got him stretched
According to you the following guys suck? Randy Couture Tito Ortiz Wandy Babalu Alistar Overeem Vitor Belfort There are more but that should be enough.
Face the facts people. Chuck has had a great career and accomplished a lot in MMA. He doesn't have the best defense and has paid for it a few times. That doesn't make him any less of a good fighter. You can't judge the guys whole career on his boxing technique.
I dont know why you get so bothered on Chuck Z? Chuck has done very well for himself fact is.. his punches are sloppy.. he leaves his chin exposed at times as we saw and get got stretched by someone that could time it and take advantage
So are we saying we could "kick Chuck's ass" or are YOU saying MMA is better than boxing? Which is it? Why do MMA fighters work on their boxing skills then?
I just don't think it's cool to have a whole thread bashing the guy. That is all. I feel sorry for Chuck really. I'm not saying his striking is good by boxing standards but you have to be crazy to say it hasn't been effective for him. MMA fighter do and should work on boxing, along with the many other aspects of MMA.
And if his striking was good (or is good) for MMA standards... well, MMA doesn't have very high standards. Fortunately for the sport, some of the newer generation actually know what they're doing.
Fair enough but I started this thread seconds after I saw the KO and it wasn't insulting until later on. Fighters get KTFO and people are happy about it. That's part of the sports and part of being a fan of the sports
I've just copied and pasted a post from sherdog. This is your average "sherdogger" :: Bunch of fucking morons over there.
First off, Liddell doesn't suck. He's one of the most succesful fighters of his generation. But....he is 38, has probably hurt himself by excessive partying through the years.....and most importantly, and this has happened to most fighters since the incept of UFC\MMA....the sport tends to evolve faster then the fighters. The fighters of today would beat the fighters of 5 years ago. The fighters of 5 years ago would beat the fighters of the Royce Gracie era. The fighters of tomorrow will be better then the fighters of today. As the sport evolves, the fighters evolve, and what worked yesterday probably won't work today. In the UFC's infancy, fighters were 1 dimensional. Gracie, Severn, even guys like Tank Abbott, they were pretty much one style. As time passed, the fighters evolved. As good as Gracie was in his prime, he just wasn't well versed in other aspects of MMA to be succesful today. Same with Severn. Tank wouldn't even be able to compete. Liddell had good standup for the time. His takedown defense remains top notch. His kicks are solid. But what worked for him 5 years ago doesn't really work anymore. The bottom line is, the sport of MMA is evolving fast, faster than many of the fighters it seems. TFK
