I think Merchant is usually horrible. No exception tonight.

They were ALL horrible tonight, talking absolute shit, and not even entertaining. When they were clamouring for the Caballero - Yordan fight to be stopped, I was like WTF, they were even saying it as Yordan was landing a few clean shots

Merchant is usually great though, and makes the broadcast more enjoyable.

    Kellerman is an irritating dork.

    Just watched the fights.

    My thoughts.

I've always been a big fan of Larry Merchant but he is completely shot. He's gone soft. What a cryptic fucking broadcast of the first fight by both him and Lampley. Steward was the only voice of reason.

Bringing up dead fighters names and every death scenario possible. You'd think it was Emile Griffith trapping Benny Paret on the ropes in there. I didn't see Yoardan hurt at all. I've seen guys win fights taking less of a beating then he took. Victor Ortiz and Acelino Frietas got called quitters for taking three times the beating Yoardan took.

Was it because he's from Indonesia and they didn't know who the hell he was? Was Doo-koo Kim swimming in their heads?

    :dunno:

    Berto vs. Quintana.

Berto to me officially becomes one of those fighters I like as a person, but can't stand as a fighter.

This is not the Quintana of old. I don't know what happened to him. Is he a party guy? Did he become shot in the gym? He could have been something, but ever since he adapted the David Blaine look........he just hasn't been the same. :nono:

Berto - Why is it, the fighters who fall into punches, throw wide shots behind other guys heads, use elbows to push their opponent into the ropes, wrap their opponents up after throwing a two punch combo, lead with their head, spin away and turn their backs on their opponent......................always are the ones to whine the most about dirty tactics?

Nice finishing job by Berto, but Quintana wasn't given a chance............by himself........the ref..........or crybaby Berto.

Noble - totally agree about the first fight. Their comments were just, well, a bit fucking weird to be honest.
